At the start of 2013 I made a private resolution, just between me and myself. I resolved to be On Time with my monthly mosaics this year, to make them happen bang at the end of each month like other organised bloggers do. Thing is, I have to accept that making schedules for my blog is pretty pointless these days. Everything happens quite spontaneously at Attic24, and I've grown to rather like it that way. So monthly round-ups may not in fact happen at the end of the relevant month, but they will happen at some unscheduled point in time. Usually at a time when I actually have time to pootle about with my photos and create the visuals.
It's a lovely thing to do mind you, to look back at the month that has just passed and celebrate it visually. It serves to jog the memory, to capture the essence of that time in the year, to be content with the look of life's Little Bits. After almost five years of writing about my life and making these monthly mosaics (yes five years, that's sixty months!!), I still really love to do it. It makes me happy, reeeeeeeeeeally happy.
I'm looking forward to the next sixty months.

Ps you can view all sixty of my MM's in one place if you like....you can have yourself a colourful Attic24 slideshow. There is a link to the mosaic album in my right sidebar, or go HERE to see.
Sixty! Wowsers.
Hi Lucy,
Absolutley love your blog. The colours never fail to cheer me up! I simply love the way you bring them all together.
IN the above mosaic for February, I love the first picture of small squares of multiple colours.... what did you use them for?

If they aren't scheduled they aren't "expected". After a while anything "expected" starts to become a habit and once it is a habit it loses its spontaneity and beauty. Unexpected involves a little surprise, a tiny shock of gorgeousness to the system like a chocolate bickie and a good cup of tea after a hard day :). Cheers on not being too organised :)

Hi, I've been following your blog for a couple of years.... I found it when trying ( the first of many times) to teach my self to crochet.... I initially wanted to make a blanket and on a google search a link for your blog came up.... I'm glad it did, I love the simple homely warmth and Appreciation you share for every day happenings of family life.
Over a year ago when I found out I was pregnant I set my self the task of making a small pram blanket.... My daughter is now nearly 7 months old!!!!
I was browsing through your recent posts this evening and noticed on the one the photo of you holding a stone..... Did you make the gloves yourself ? They are lovely and I love gloves.... Essential with pram pushing and dog walks. If you did make them -is there a pattern you could put a link to? And also are there any very simple straightforward beginner crochet books you would recommend to get me started???
With a bit of luck and a lot of optimism maybe by next winter I will have a new cosy pair of gloves to wear and my daughter a new blanket to keep her warm!
Hope the spring sunshine and warmth comes to you soon

Hi Lucy! I just found your blog while browsing Ravelry for something with colorwork. Came across with your crochet granny stripes blanket. :) So here I am and I'm already loving it! Such inspiring projects and photos and lovely sceneries from England. I am such an England enthusiast. Need to get there at least once a year. So greetings from Finland and have a great spring! :)

Hola Lucy!!!! Do you read in spanish?

I love the monthly mosaics! So colorful and cheery. I can relate to things getting done spontaneously...in my household that seems to be the only way to doing things.

I love your mosaics, no matter when they are posted! Always a little sunshine no matter what kind of day it is :)
p.s. Can't wait to see what you are doing with your studio space. I have finally acquired 'studio space' in my home and need inspiration. (And someone to come in and organize it for me! ha!)

Hi
I love reading your blog and love looking at your crochet and photos. Forgive me if I am wrong but I was browsing on eBay & looking at crochet items and came across someone who sells many different types of CDs which have tutorials. One caught my eye as it was a photo of your bag & a tutorial on it?? I swear it was actually your photo too- just wondering if you knew this & whether someone is stealing your patterns?
