About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Belated blogday. I am new to Attic24 and crocheting. I must say you have truly inspired me to go the whole way! Thank you. Look forward to the next five years.

Hi Lucy, after reading your birthday post i feel that i must drop you a line to say thank you,not only for your blog but also for giving me inspiration blog too, I much like you am a stay at home mum, with a very creative streak! I started to read your blog 3 years ago when I was teaching myself to crochet and you taught me so well! My blog is called LooLaBoo and has also become my child, that i nurture and hope to grow! Thank you thank you thank you for all the warmth and love you put into your wonderful post and PLEASE keep them coming!

Jane

A million thanks to you on your birthday. Attic24 is my bestest friend that I've never met. Because of you, my 2013 resolution was to learn to crochet and only in the happiest of happy colors. Started with one granny square, then went straight to the crochet bag. Am almost finished the zigzag baby blanket (or it has almost finished me). After years of monochromatic knitting my house is filling with warm sunny sunshiny happy yarns. Can't wait for the book. With warmest wishes for many hooky years to come.

Carol

Congratulations Lucy, Attic24 was the first blog I read and is still my favourite. Thank you for the inspiration, colour and for sharing your joy in life and family.

Congrats Lucy! I love your blog. It is always such a treat to read. Your blog inspired me to take up crocheting again a few years ago, and I haven't stopped. :-)

Hi Lucy, I don't often comment but always, always read. Just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary for your blog. Yours is by far my favourite blog to read and has inspired me so much in my life, mainly to enjoy the very little day to day things, my family, a hot cup of coffee, a ray of sunshine. Life is so short and fragile and it's the little things that are so important. I'm so grateful to you for helping me to think this way. I'm also very grateful for you getting me into crochet, a major love of my life now.

You are one of a kind, truly original and I love visiting you. I feel like I'm in your home and in your presence each time I read. Sorry I don't comment very often but I have two very little people who take up all my time as I know you will understand.

I'm amazed that you read ALL your comments, you are a wonderful lady indeed!

Thank you...for sharing your experiences through lovely images and words. It is like visiting with a friend. Your blog inspired me to reteach myself the art of crochet (my grandmother and mother had taught me when I was about 10 years old). So, your blog is constant inspiration. Thank you!

Adding another comment to an already exhaustive list! Happy Blogversary!

Your place is always a colourful place to visit, especially on a northern grey day!

Happy 5th!! You do such a fabulous job sharing, creating and sharing simple joys - you were a big part in inspiring me to start blogging a short while ago and I adore popping over here to see what you've been up to - well done!! J9 x

During a rainy holiday in the Lake District, about four years ago, I caught up with all your blog entries & I've not missed one since. I spotted you at Harrogate's Stitch Show & felt like I'd seen a celebrity! Good luck with your future ventures; as your children grow up I believe crochet will become your vocation and what a great way to pay the bills. Your patterns are so current and success is almost guaranteed by anyone who attempts one. Still hoping for your book! A great milestone- thanks for your time and effort. I look forward to your next post.

Regina

I love your blog! Happy Birthday and greetings from Germany (Baden-Württemberg)!! :-)
Best wishes for you and your family.

Congrats! I just found your blog about 3 weeks ago. Which means I have oodles of fun things to look at and try. I made lovely daffs this morning.

Robin

Congrats on your milestone! I love reading your blog and your colourful crochet world is so inspiring :)

Happy 1/2 a decade anniversary :)

It may seem strange that your blogs become so huge but I think people appreciate that in many ways they're just like you, you're not famous or a millionaire, nor have you discovered a cure for cancer, but that's not what people want :) I know I certainly appreciate your openess and honesty and the little insight we get into your crafty & family life.

Perhaps I'm just nosey but I find it all very interesting. Here's to another 5 years! x

Karen

Happy Birthday to your blog! I enjoy reading about all your adventures and seeing all the beauty that fills your life (in your pictures and your words). I've been a reader for less that a year, but I'm in for the long haul!
