About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

As a long term reader of your wonderful, wonderful, wonderful blog - but a first time poster - I just had to say how much I've loved your French photos. You seem to have a marvellous eye for whatever is beautiful, warm hearted, gorgeous, colourful and lovely in the places you photograph. Thank you so much Lucy, you have really lifted and inspired me by taking me into the heart of this lovely corner of France. x x x

Thanks Lucy for sharing such wonderful photos of a truly beautiful place. Your enthusiasm is palpable in your posts when you are inspired and it is truly a breath of fresh air and infectious! Again, thanks for taking us faceless beings with you on your adventure. So envious of your little basket ;)

that gathering under the tree next to the battlement at les baux is what i hope heaven will be like. if it is, i want to go.
thanks for taking us.

Hi Lucy Love your pictures of France..I too like taking pictures of peoples houses, doors and alley ways, dogs and cats looking out of windows are my favorite. Digital photography has made that even more possible you can take sooooo many!!! If you ever come to Norfolk make sure you take in the villages of the North Norfolk coast line ..you'll need an extra memory card....

All four villages look vacant to me. How in the world did you not capture any resident? Lovely, lovely pics. Thanks for sharing.

So loving these pictures from Provence. It's been ages...as in I was in high school and now have one in college....since I've been there and it's still so beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos. You brought back my youth for a bit...now if I could just get that waistline back....

I grew up there... a tiny village called Rochegude, not far from Vaison la Romaine and Orange. Thank you for your pictures, they brought some sun in my foggy and cold Wisconsin morning !

ah, what an old place France is...
(this was my favorite of your Provence posts)

Thank you for sharing these lovely photos, I enjoyed visiting them this morning so much.

Just to be there would be something wonderful. Now, whenever you feel a "blue moan fiest" coming on..... Well with that in your minds eye, you can't really could not get too low feeling, just remember.....

I answer Rosie. The two last villages are like many little villages in France, they are deserted because they are most of the time to far from work.

It is also difficult when you have children, because you have to bring them to school or they take the school bus but it's a long day for them.

And now with the crisis and with the price of oil, most of people want to live near their job, so most of the time near the cities. So these villages are for the holidays and people who live there are very often the old ones.

Thank you...

Thank you so much for taking us all on this wonderful virtual trip to Provence... a bit of extra sunshine before the winter!

Thank you so much for sharing Lucy!
From your wonderful photos and words, I can get the feeling of being there (I wish I could have been there in person, maybe next time).
Love Sue

Oh! What lovely villages. The sunshine and weather is so different to what we get here. I love the little twisting streets. It is just like when we went to France. Not Provence, you understand, but somewhere else.

Oh, your photo's are breathtaking, so beautiful. Since I was a teenager I've loved Vincent van Gogh's work, and it all reminds me of it. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you did have a good time.

Fabulous pics - I lived in Bordeaux for 6 months and these brought back many happy memories!

Beautiful pictures!!

That's it! I'm moving to Vaison la Romaine!! ♥ :D xxxx

Truly beautiful place I love France it is a wonderful country ... it gives you permission just to stand or sit (and drink coffee) and soak up the atmosphere.

Thank you for sharing ... and I look forward to tomorrow!!
