About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Oh Lucy, what a perfectly beautiful getaway for you and your family. I would love to move in with your Mum!!!

Twolittleflowers

Oooh boy - I'd like to go there right now! What a lovely time you guys all had. Who needs more than family, love, sunshine, fresh air, fresh food and comfort?! Keri

Bonnie

so lovely reading about your days Lucy! Your mum made the most lovely afternoon tea-so much effort and you are so lucky to have a mum to spend time with! I love that photo of the road with your little one wandering up it in the afternoon sun, so gorgeous!

JOPSY

ooh great pictures! the weather was fab in the sw the other week! nice alpaca-we have 6 here at home; but not seen one that colour round here! :)

Allison

WOW! WHAT a vacation! The children's animal farm sounds like such an amazing place. So child-friendly and animal-friendly, too, it sounds like. It's so wonderful that you and your husband are able to and DO plan and take vacations as a family. We had several family vacations when I was a child and I remember them fondly. Such a special time with your family, so lovely.

Taylor

WOW. Your pictures are tremendous! It really makes me want to go to Dorset. I'm glad Little B got a chance to ride on the toy tractors. I have a nephew who would love that as well :). Thanks for a delightful read!

Yvonne

Ooops Lucy, sorry I just posted a comment but think something went wrong cos I got thrown off my system lol! Anyway, just wanted to say hello and to let you know that I love your blog, and this is a wonderful post, I especially like the nasturtiums which are one of the few UK flowers I have managed to grow here in Cyprus. I have just posted my first blog post today and I really hope that one day my blog can be even half as nice as your one is! Yvonne xx

Bonnie

Such a lovely post! Thanks for sharing.

Clare

What lovely memories you are creating for you and your children. I have similar holiday memories of North Wales as a child and these photos brought them all back - thank you.

Susan

Looks like you had a wonderful vacation....did you stay in the Connievan??

Just seen my friend JoZarty is a follower and echo the poem she's written above.
Just love your tales and the photos bring them alive. Thanks for sharing, x

Rosie

What blissful posts these are of your holiday. We holidayed a year or two ago in this area and also visited the Abbotsbury Gardens. With our children grown up now we had no reason to go to the farm but my first grandchild is due in September so in a couple of years....
Thank you for bringing a little bit of holiday bliss into all our lives, I love reading your blog and always feel better for it!

Carole

Beautiful photos Lucy. I absolutley love Alpacas, cos they`ve got knees like mine lol!If i won the lottery i would definately have some. A friend of mine was down in Dorset at the same time as you and she said there wasn`t a cloud in the sky all week.
Love Carole from Rossendale xxx

We're just back from a long weekend in Dorset too and my 2.5 yo was similarly entranced by the Children's farm, especially the bouncy cows and goat race! Was half expecting to bump into you down there as we seem to go to all the same places, but don't think we were there at quite the right time. Better luck next year... Thanks, as ever, for your beautiful colourful photos and lovely words, a true inspiration and much needed haven of solace. Rx

Oh Lucy! How I love your posts about your visits to our home town- I'm a Bridport girl living in New Zealand. And how gorgeous the weather looks- thank you for the photos and hometown-love! x Bel

Hi Lucy, we've just returned from a few days away camping in our campervan, my little girl loved it! I could hardly drag her away from the pool! However the temptation of an ice lolly worked! Love your photos & discriptiions, what lovely weather you had. I must make some scones....Love your blog am learning to crochet & have found your tutorials invaluable, thanks a lot Claire xx

Oh boy oh boy! It has been nothing short of DIVINE going on holiday with you and your lovely family! If you could peak into my head (& heart) and know just how much I LOVE ENGLAND (and hope to return one day for an EXTENDED stay) well then you'd know that I practically devour all your posts ...pretending that most of these experiences are happening to me! Your Mummy's cottage is just too sweet for words. I know what you mean about "little people" on holidays... it can be quite a challenge but oh such a delight when they too relax and enjoy the fun with you. Your blog will be such a delight for them to ponder over in years to come. No doubt reminding them of all the fun they had. Very VERY special! Thank you SO SO SOOO much for sharing!

Nicky

I always think Alpaca look like quite posh, ditsy, clueless gals!! Think Ab Fab...
Love the idea of goat racing

A beautiful good morning from Germany :) Your pictures are always so wonderful, this is definately one of our next vacation destinations to go!!! Luckily we have a small British shop in our town, which carries clotted cream and other goodies :)

Beautiful photos and memories to be cherished.

Hi from Oregon.. Lucy, that tea your mom made looks totally delish! I so enjoyed seeing your countryside and the farm day. We used to raise registered Nubian dairy goats, so seeing them was a fun deja vu experience for me. Fun times! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Lilea

Thank you so much for taking us on your holiday journey! Your photos are beautiful and your descriptions transport me to your lovely island. (I've always loved the hour of long shadows!)
