About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Hello Lovely Lady , thanks for reminding me what a fab night we had , Oh boy we did laugh !! My plants in the back yard are looking a little battered at the moment with all the rain. I hope we get chance before summers out to do this again !!
Looking forward to part 2.
Speak soon love Tracy xx

Utter bliss.

Magical laughing properties - I love it! I agree, its a fab drink of choice and you did well to make the most of the few really summery days we get in the UK. I still mourn for that week in May...
Oh by the way, I have started a granny stripe, double bed size in purples/pinks and browns, now I just need the sun to come out! Look forward to tomorrow's post!

I'd never heard of Pimms before and it looks so inviting! What a lovely evening and isn't it great it stays light for so long at night your end of the world :)

Anne Marie

I've never tried Pimms, and I wish I had a back yard rather than a rather unkempt garden, unkempt mainly because there's too much to do and also the wet grass because of the rain, and being unable to mow it.

What a lovely post Lucy. Gorgeous photos which made me feel as if i was there with you. Looking forward to part II .
Love Carole xxxx

It sounds perfect and thanks to you I am finally mastering the art of crochet I have managed to make 4 granny squares now. They are just in a single colour and I'm just using up what oddments of yarn I have left from knitting projects. I want to go out and buy yarn now so I can make a lovely blanket ready to snuggle in in the winter
Thank you
Jackie x

What a beautiful allium indeed!

Maria José

I'm waiting your post!!!

Penny Peberdy

Now I do remember my parents having Pimms No 1 AND Pimms No 2. Pimms No2, I think, was whisky or brandy-based and doesn't seem to exist any more...

Sounds just perfect! Maybe one evening you will get to do it again....if we ever have any nice weather return?!!! Stunning photos as always! Andrea x

Mrs Craftypants

can't wait for part two!

Sounds like a totally perfect evening. I love Pimms but none for pregnant ladies unfortunately. Will have to wait until next summer!

buon lavoro <3<3

A perfect evening! Looking forward to part two.

Friends are wonderful creatures

Sounds sublime! I only know one other person who crochets, I am a rare breed in these parts......I think to be honest, a lot of people think I'm a little cooky!

I miss my backyard, especially when I see beautiful ones like this one and yours too. I now have a huge back garden to try and keep tame! It sounds like a wonderful evening, in fact it sounds perfect.

I learned to crochet from your tutorials too and haven't looked back, I honestly can't thank you enough for all your colourful inspiration.

What a joy! I love your inspiring blog, and I also love to crochet, especially through summer!

It was a lovely lovely evening. Would just like to put a disclaimer in that I drank water all night and not pimms! x (never know what people might think!)

Well count me in....for sure!!! Can't wait for part 11!! :-)

How fabulous! Good friends, lovely food and drink and some sunny weather along with a bit of hooky ~ what more could a girl ask for? It sounds like the perfect sort of evening to me :O)xx

I do so LOVE reading your blog.... always some wonderful crochet with such easy instructions I find I've expanded my abilities thanx to you...but OH how I'd love to live in such a place - to be able to walk along the canal, to see the wondrous wild garlic, and to have friends to gather with weekly to enjoy laughter, crochet and camaraderie and the joys of being a stay at home Mom.
Every day I check out the various crochet blogs I not follow but always save and savor your for last - just before I turn off my lights and dream happy hooky domestic bliss filled dreams... Thanx Lucy!!!! <3
