About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Is that a new Cath Kidson bad that you are using for the cuttings?

What a lovely place to visit. Super photos! Love the birds.
I missed the solstice, but that can only mean one thing: Spring is coming!
Happy Christmas and a good 2012.

The above is a link to photographs of the wonderful cloud formations over Yorkshire this week.

Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year

I saw the cloud item on BBC Breakfast too - they're amazing! Such a good idea to celebrate the soltice. Here's to a little more daylight everyday!

Such lovely pictures! I think winter days and sunshine are one of the best combinations :)
On the BBC there is an article about the strange looking clouds - quite funky looking!

Hope you have a lovely Christmas :)

Those clouds are beautiful! I saw them too... The BBC website has some really good pictures.

Stunning photos of the clouds! Apparently they're quite rare... a few minutes after reading your blog post I saw this on the BBC web site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-16302606

Thanks for a fab blog and so much crochet inspiration (it was you that finally got me to overcome my crochet demons this summer past!)

Have a wonderful Christmas - we're fighting similar lurgies here, fingers crossed we've all got our appetites back ready for a feast...

Those clouds are truly amazing Lucy, you live in a really lovely part of the world.
Holly always looks jolly by the fire, I have a tree at the end of my garden which I leave well alone as it's a little haven for the birds. We seem to be seeing fewer and fewer so I feel guilty if I go and disturb them!

My husband was showing me pictures of those clouds yesterday evening and I told him they must be photoshopped! Amazing.

Good news about Little Man- I recall a Christmas run-up when my daughter was a similar age to L.M.and she was similarly afflicted, they can really be knocked sideways by bugs- I remember dragging her off to the woods for holly and she looked so pale, but the fresh air helped!
Lucky you to have some sunshine, we had a very grey shortest day, which made it seem even shorter.
Awesome clouds.

Hi Lucy, WOW !! Those clouds are amazing, I am a bit of a cloud 'buff' when out and about on my walks, these are called 'Lenticular' Clouds, you can see an amzing news article about these clouds on the BBC News Website at the moment. There is an amazing gallery photos taken on Winter Solstice in West Yorks this week !! You must take a look, the photos are beautiful. Glad Little Man is feeling better ( just in time for Santa - phew!)I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy and Healthy New Year. Carmen xxxx

Glad LM is recovering. I nearly wept with joy when I sawthe lovely photos- soon be time to take the caravan to the lovely site at Bolton Abbey. Like you, I feel much better knowing that the days will gradually lengthen and soon it will be spring. Best wishes to your lovely family for a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas.

Definitely worth celebrating, and what gorgeous weather we're having. Your little patch of the world is lovely. I was in my native Cumbria for a few days last week, and like you I took time to stop and breathe in the beauty surrounding me. I've loved reading every post on your blog this year - thank you Lucy, and happy Christmas to you and your family xxx

I visited to check on the wibbly leg situation. All is well, it seems. Excellent news. Have a very happy Christmas.
Arriving today - four children, three husbands and one wife plus two grandchildren and I don't think I have ever been up so early. Enjoy your 'little' family while they still are! It becomes exhausting later.... (but great fun).

As always, very impressive photos!

Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year to you and all your family Lucy.
I wish the same for all your visitors too, both here in blogland and in reality.
Love from
Mo x

Oh my god, spelling mistake *hear NOT here.

The birds on the log are hilarious, I think I'd like some in my garden. You are so lucky to have such marvellous walks so close to home, I get very envious at times.
Glad to here your little man is on the mend. It is quite distressing when they are sick and you can't do much about it except try to cool them down. Little Miss B turned 3 yesterday and overdid everything. It all culminated in vomit in bed, but she did feel much better afterward!
xXx Helen
PS, Merry Christmas to you and your family.

merry christmas to you - and give a big hug to the dales, I miss them soooo much, my heart is always a bit homesick-hurting when I see your lovely pictures... ;-)

There are clouds like yours on the BBC News website

Wonderful news about Little Man! He has been in my mind and heart non-stop. Just in time for the holiday! Hooray!
