About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Coal fireplace? Is it more for heat, or for ambiance? You live in a neat old building.

Anne

Thanks Lucy for your inspirational posts. I started hooking this year and am addicted!! Infact I am just heading into Ilkley to visit Create - love it and their yarns are so exciting! Loving seeing photos of places I also love to walk! Hope you wee man is better and Christmas was great!

Happy Christmas, Lucy! Glad your son is improving in time for the big day. Lovely photos, as always!

Do you know the origin of the phrase "nineteen to the dozen?" Maybe it's an English expression, but I have never heard it before and it caused me to stop and read it a second time.

Louise

Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope your Little man will feel better very soon.
and thank you for your blog, it's always a pleasure to come around here and read you.

Hi Lucy,

I was wondering if you were interested in any advertising opportunities on your site at all? If so, feel free to send me an email to discuss further.

Many thanks and best regards,

Crisp, bright, cold winter days are such a lovely thing!

I am signing off for the year Lucy, so I just wanted to pop by and wish you and your family a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS and a VERRY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Your Blog has been a complete delight to read this past year and I look forward to reading more in 2012!

The photos are lovely, what a wonderful place you live in. I'm sorry to hear that little man is still unwell and hope he gets better soon. It seems to be the time for it as my little man was ill with just a cough/cold for 2 weeks. I hope yours isn't too serious. Best wishes, Sam xx

I envy your fire place.

Poor little Man. The Wibbly-Legs bug can get a very firm grip on little peeps at this time of year, and be wearying for Mums and Dads too. Perhaps this will bring a smile - news of the largest crochet blanket in the world, comprising 7,800 brilliant granny-square blankets made by members of three communities(?) in Finland, pictured on the town hall steps, in Helsinki. http://www.scandinaviandeko.com/blog/crocheting-the-largest-blanket-in-the-world/ The joy goes on….. and this would make a good starting point??

oh what a time to be feeling poorly. hope the little one feels better soon and all is well for your christmas holiday....think merry thoughts!

Lise

I hope your Little Man is better soon. Mine are almost always sick at Christmas, and it is always heartbreaking when they seem to get better, then take another turn for the worse.

I hope you all have a wonderful, snuggly Christmas together!

jooles

My son had a fever for 7 days a few years back. It scared the heck out of me but it was just a weird virus. Hang in there!

Sorry to hear that little man is still poorly. I went down on Saturday afternoon and had to stay in bed for most of Sunday and Monday. Feeling a lot better just sound awful! Cleaned living room so need to get festive.
And have to confess that I still need to write some cards this evening.
Just a few more sleeps!!xx

Helen

Oh dear poor sick Little Man, I hope the doc can sort things out for you. I hope he can still enjoy christmas despite it all.

I know what you mean about over emotional. I took my little baby to advent mass and I sang Away in a Manager with my baby boy in my arms and I nearly cried my eyes out!

Good luck with the rest of your Christmas prep.

Merry Christmas, Lucy. Hope Little Man is better soon.

Deborah

It is wonderful that you can walk everywhere in your town. That is good exercise and time to spend with your children.

Caroline

Poor Little Man, hope he's not too poorly to enjoy Christmas. Looking forward to seeing the decorations!
