About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Lovely pictures from your holiday in York. It is such a beautiful city. Pleased you had a wonderful time x

Such lovely pictures of York, it reminds me a bit of some of our Belgian cities. You should come to Bruges if you have the opportunity, I think you might like it a lot (and the chocolate too)! :-) So happy you spent a wonderful time with your family! xxxx

I used to live just 30 minutes north of York in the North York Moors national park ... loved the city. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!

Great post, I too love, love, love York and would move there at the drop of a hat (or a lottery win!!)

Beautiful photos, evening seems to be the best time to photograph York, when the people are gone! I went there as a child once and have taken children there on a trip to the Minster and Yorvik but I'd really like to go back for a proper look around and explore one day.

I loved your holiday pictures. It looks like lots of fun and it was a very inspired idea to just transport your home for the week while J could still go to work. Great thinking! x

Lucy, you never fail to make me smile. And you are so very right about children and puddles. It's a joyful thing.

What a lovely place! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos and I love the coffee warmer, even though it is wonky (albeit slight) it adds character-who wants everything perfect anyway!?!

lots of lovely pics, lucy! and such a wonderful idea to combine work and a connie-excursion for all of you so you all had something of the trip!
the colorful hooky cafetiere-sweater looks like a winner to me :D better luck with the fit next time! i am STILL :/ working on some wintery accesories for my daughters birthday tuesday (cause the next winter is on its way for sure) but oh, how i HATE sewing up all those many loose ends... thanks for sharing "york in the evening"... i can understand your great enthusiasm for the town... hugs from heidi

thank you for a trip around York! My darling KB spent time there when she lived in England way back in her twenties but I have never been and am amazed at those cute little quaint streets with overhanging rooms!
Love the caffiterie cozy even if it doesn't fit! I made one ages ago from your lovely granny stripe pattern and I still love it very much!
Have a lovely weekend XXXXX

Lovely places and beautiful crochet cozy :-) love love love from another mom that knit and crochet just one hour before get off to bed :-)

Lucy, Thank you for the peek at your vacation/holiday. Some of us have to live vicariously through others and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing York again and imagining the slow pace and tranquility of not having any agenda. Beautiful pictures. :) Jil

Thank you Lucy for giving me my Happy memories back of when I lived in the UK.York was a fav place of ours and I love seeing all the places I loved so much.TY again.Hugs.XOXO

Hi Lucy,
I love your photos of York... I live in North Carolina and have always dreamed of traveling to your "neck of the woods." Seeing all of your pictures make me want to come even more. I also love seeing all of your crochet projects. I crochet and knit ..and look to your projects for color combination inspiration.
Are you still using the Canon camera.. or have you started using something else? I am a camera fanatic and have always wanted a Canon...(I have about eight, but no Canon)
I think your photos are beautiful. You are quite the photographer.

Beautiful scenery! I am struck by the fact that it is still light out at 9pm there!

Does sound LOVELY, i agree there need not be any of those fancy things, simple times are always the best memories!

Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday, thanks for the beautiful look around York, I love that blogs like yours give me a chance to see the north of England (where my mother came from)from the other side of the world, I wish she was still here to share it with me...

How beautiful! Thanks for the evening walk through York.

Absolutely charming! It sounds like you have a lovely time camping and visiting York. Those pictures just make my heart happy :) I'd love to go for a stroll one evening through a place like that and I know exactly which dear friend of mine I would take with me! Such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing the experience!

A perfect week, I could do with a holiday like this, somewhere to rest your head and eat without all the work that goes with it. York does look a great place, do love the little streets.

What a lovely holiday! Thank you for sharing it with us all!

Thanks for sharing your lovely holiday. I'm very envious. I lived in the Uk and often visiting York to visit a relative that lived there and loved wandering around the city. We have our own York an hour from Perth, Western Australia - which is quaint and boasts a lovely old Church (200 years!!) But doesn't quite cut the mustard of its namesake!! Viewing your blog and wonderful photos is one of my treats - thank you!

sweet sweet! It sounds like a lovely trip! Your photographs are lovely, thank you for sharing them here!

What a lovely holiday you had! I work in York (although sadly don't live there!) and cycle along the river to get to work past your little caravan site. Very beautiful it is too (York, that is, I don't really go in for caravan sites myself...).

Must go on holiday there soon! I only ever see the route from the train station to the office!
