About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Love this post....and especially how you find beauty while taking out the rubbish! Well done!

Lucy, can't thank you enough for that link. We've just invested in our first 'van, a 20 yr old Sprite Alpine (now christened 'Heidi'), and I can't wait to start the makeover. Loving your CL tips too, we'll be following in your footsteps.

Just found your blog. I was looking for an easy and simple ripple to try doing. I love the way you made the ripple pattern look and sound so easy to do. Am working up an afghan for a new grandbaby and have never done a ripple pattern. I've done several grannie squares and a few log cabin patterns. So am looking forward to doing your ripple pattern. Also, I seen the one above in one of your pics. It looks like small granny squares ? Would like to see the pattern for that also, if you don't mind sharing.

I forgot to send you thr adress for my blog. You are welcome to see my pillow.

Hi Lucy,
I am Sarah,I live near Rotterdam in Holland.
I discovered your blog in 2010 and I'm so glad you gave me back the joy of making things with my hands.Crochet is a daily joy now. Your bright colours inspired me a lot of times. I'm going through a difficult time in my life and I will say: thanks, thanks, a thousand times thanks! You are so positive in your blogs, everything you write about, wonderfull!

Nadia (the everyday blessings)

I love finding moments in my day. Sweet little snapshots that fill your heart with joy as it takes you back to the second it happened. A moment that would be otherwise forgotten. Lovely :)

Love the lovely happy colors in your home !

Travelling is fun, but the really precious moments are in our own home. My peeps are off to university in a few weeks. I'm glad I had the blessing of quiet home moments with them.

Lucy, you inspire me. I just found your blog last march and have been hooked ever since. I feel like I am your mid-west counter part. I live in Iowa in the US. I made a snake and then read your post that week and you had made one too. The coffee mug post from 3 years ago was like reading about myself. If anyone touches the mug I drink my morning cuppa out of I get all techy. lol. I keep finding similarities and I have decided to sell some of the many things I have made this summer and I am thinking of starting a blog too. I don't know if people will be interested or not. I look forward to all of y0our posts and am so happy when there is a new one.Keep it up. Kashi.

At last I am able to leave comments on blogs again!!(some box-checking problem seemingly)Anyhoo, I digress... have wanted to comment since I started reading you. I learnt to crochet mid-July and was directed to your blog by the lady in my local wool shop. This led me to the Granny Stripe, and the BB, and much happiness in my newly found crafty hobby. Thanks, and keep blogging the tales of your hols, they make me feel all wistful.....

You take gratitude to a whole new level with the photos you post. Thank YOU for posting them. And your colors in your home...amazing.
You made MY morning.

tus fotos son geniales y esos piecitos de bebé me enamoran... que tengas buena semana!

hello again lucy!

appreciating the lil things... very important. some folks need to relearn going thru life with their eyes wide open. with time seems we lose that precious talent... daily routine eats us up. there is really so much to be thankful for... thank YOU for sharing your lovely lil world. it is so very inspiring! (cant wait to see the new hooky project... looks like another blanket? this time you have added chocolate-y brown?! scrumptious!) i have made those granola seedy thingies in the past myself - a great snacker for the lil peeps. today i am doing peanut butter cookies with the muesli stuff. have to make a hug-box that will go up to the north sea coast... last pic is beautiful, love the cobble stones... xs os heidi

Hi Lucy, loved this post and also the Connie-van vacation. I was gone camping at a high alpine lake here in Oregon for 9 days, so was catching up. I invite you to pop over to my blog and see my pictures of our "caravan" holiday too!
