About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

July sounds like it's been a great month for you! I love seeing your colorful contribution to the craft fair (those bunnies are sooo cute!). Also, your yard looks just like the hotel courtyard (even better, actually, in my opinion). Well done on capturing the feel you were going for!

Oooh what lovely goodies at the fair!!!! Such a pretty stall.....
I love your pictures, looks like it was fun...

I think that 16 of those motifs in the granny bunting would make a lovely round centerpiece for a table.....

Just love visiting your fabulous blog....what a treat for the eyes and it always leaves me smiling! I am now making a blooming flower cusion too! I have already made the yarn bag and I have my sights in the key rings and the granny bunting....you are an inspiration. I hope your Mum is doing better :-)

I love this post. It's so full of summery colour. Great! x

I did see like snakey in there and thought "surely not, he can't be being sold"!! I knew you loved him too much :) Such a great fundraiser stall and lovely to have such talented friends :) Thanks for another inspiring read. I look forward to them so much!

Lovely sea views, they make me want to hop on a train all by myself too. Love the photo of your courtyard - so pretty. Beautiful crochet - as always. Such a gorgeous post - thank you for sharing it with us. Best wishes, Pj x

Oh I've had a sunday lunch at that hotel :) it is really lovely - they've done a good job on the shabby chic look there. That stall looks amazing :) you've prompted me to gather together other crafty mums at school to do something similar next year :)

What a lovely post! Those rabbits are too cute! The first thing that sprang to my mind when I saw them was, wouldn't they make great skittles! :)

Loved your random post, great mixture of things going on in your life. I hope your mum is still doing well by the way. Take care.

Delightful, as ever.

goodness what a lovely 'grown up' trip you had, the court yard is so pretty i can see why you didn't want to leave. I hope your mum is doing well x

Good for you! Really precious that me time, it really feeds the soul to remember your a person as well as a mum, wife, daughter, friend and all the other things we are to other people.
What a gorgeous stall! So many talented people around and really nice to see other peoples creativity.
Hope you get more summery sunshine.

What a gorgeous post!! I love your garden/yard. It looks so welcoming. The craft stall would have definately caught mine & my daughters eye & lots of pennies would have been spent! Thanks for this lovely blog post, your pictures & writing are the perfect thing to go along with my morning cuppa. & you've inspired me to go & sit in the sunshine & make something pretty for my home. xx

Love the bunnies, thanks for the link I will check it out!!! I think it's almost impossible to go to a craft fair and not fall in love with something, when you make things yourself you love them all the more as you can appreciate the amount of time that goes into it.!!!!:-)

Fabulous post! Yes, July has been lovely - sunny but with enough rain for the garden to thrive. The blue of the sky has been delightful, reminding me of remembered childhood days - I'm not one for the heat we have when the sky is burnt white. The craft stall looks so tempting and no wonder you picked a hen cushion - my eyes were immediately drawn to them.

Hope your Mum is continuing her recovery.

It is such a little pleasure to come and visit your blog and ready all about your homely, welcoming life. I loved your photos and reading about your little journey! I too have had a journey like that..all by myself..with no hubby and children and while it was a bit daunting, I enjoyed the me-time and getting to just be that girl, without all the other roles that demand so much of us! It is good and I think every mom should do it in her life!Just take a break and find herself again! Thanks for sharing!

Such a lovely post Lucy and I hope your mum is OK?

I love seeing all your Dorset pictures and your words truly capture the atmosphere.

Happy holidays,

Nina x

Lovely! All of it! :) Makes me pine for summer. It will come. Looking forward to what else you have in store for us :)

my morningly peek-in with the cuppa hot brew and what do my sleepy eyes see? a new lucy-post chock full of all kinds of wonderful pics and pretties. now thats the way to start the day! (i saw the ssssnake on 2 pics as well... you DIDNT, did you?) i would love to meet some equally nuts-about-crafts peeps in my village here near frankfurt... anyone out there that thinks the same? my eye caught that HUGE rickrack on the chicky cushion... ooohhhhweeeee thats on my list! its ALL so inspiring... so much thanks to you for sharing! Xs Os and all that goo from heidi

There was something on that craft table that looked suspiciously like your lovely snake that we saw recently, please tell me he did not slither off to a new home. I am most definitely going to have to pop over and find the pattern for those delightful little bunnies, they are gorgeous. Well done for all you did for the stall, you have had an awful lot happening and much worry over your mum, I think you are amazing to get anything made for them. Those key fobs are just lovely. Enjoy the summer holidays xx

Dear Lucy have really enjoyed reading your post really early this morning
as I was wide awake well before 6am. I could do with a little trip like the one you took especially if it involved beautiful views of the sea.
The craft stalls looked very inviting. We now have one of these just round the corner from my house and there is a crafty group that meets once a month in the local pub. I just need to get myself along to it.
I have crocheted a snail from Super-cute Crochet by Nicki Trench. There are some lovely characters in it and each has information about themselves.
Weather down here has been good for this first week of the holidays.
Thank you for a super post. xx

What a beautiful post. My Mum had a caravan at Eype so I know how wonderful that bit of the world is. Love the key fobs, they are so cute.

Ahhh What a satisfying blog today. I loved all the pictures and must now make the bunny and put aside for Easter next year. I feel like I was with you on your little jaunts.............Thank you

That entire post was just what I needed after a less than stellar day. The bunnies have cheered me right up! Thanks Lucy.
