About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I believe in these little signs from Angels, they come to me when I have worries, and eventually the worries go. It is a good sign, love to you Lucy x x

Words are hard to find to express my thoughts. You all continue to pop in my head as I go about my day here. I take a moment to pause look to the sky and say a few prayers from my heart. My hopes are the angels continue to watch over you as you move through these challenging times.

Be by when you need to be by.
Talk to us when you need to talk to us.
Pop over when you need to pop over.
Cry when you need to cry.
Laugh when you need to laugh, it's Ok.

Ya know I love ya.....

Ooodles of positive thoughts coming your way. The white feather is definately a good sign, an angel watching over you and yours xxx

I just found your blog today while looking for a crochet pattern. I am renewing my crochet skills (such as they are) and wanting to do some charity crochet--saw your granny stripe and loved it! Will try to figure out how to do it in an 8 inch square.

I had to comment, though, on this post. I am so sorry. I lost my precious dad 2.5 years ago. I miss him so very much. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers--even though we have never met and an ocean separates us.

(Your work is just amazing. I really want to do a square with the little raised flower in the middle. They are just adorble.)

Hello Lucy, Was recommended to visit your site by a good friend who is starting me on the crochet road. First of all I really like your blog and I hope things improve for you and your family. As an aside, you have lots of patterns and step by step guides to these patterns which look lovely and I hope to become expert enough to give some of them a go some time, however, do you have any step by step guides for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS like me? Perhaps you do and I just haven't found them yet? Perhaps you'll blog and let us know. Bxx

I've been following your page for months now and you bring beauty to everything you do. I just wanted to say there was a time where my mom was in hospital for 6 months and I remember how hard it was to continue to be a cheerful, loving, present mother while all my thoughts and heart were with my mom. Sounds like you are doing the job quite gracefully. My thoughts are with you and your family. Thanks for being such a shining light for all of us. Ellen

Hugs from across the pond. My best and fondest thoughts and wishes go out to you and yours.

Hugs to you all ......x

Oh honey! Tears welled up as I read this post! What an awful time you must be having. I hope everyone is being really supportive and my thoughts are with you and your mother. Take care and hope she comes through xxx

You are so positive.

Sending lots more positive thoughts your way.

It is amazing where we can find our strength from at times. I wish you every ounce of kind thought I can. Everyone is thinking of you and your Mum. x

Lucy, I really feel for you. I had a very similar situation with my Mum earlier in the year. The uncertainty and the rollercoaster of emotion is so very draining. In some ways it was easier to be with her at the hospital than far away living a 'normal' life. I crocheted like a mad thing to relieve the stress! My thoughts are with you and your Mum and I pray she continues to improve xx

I don't really know what to say ... and you don't know me anyway ... but I hope your Mum finds the strength to fight.

What a beautiful image with the feather.... thinking of you, love Karen xxxxx

Hi Lucy

Your feather story is beautiful and serendipitous. I hope you will keep your feather forever.

Wishing you lots of strength with keeping on going with normal, day-to-day life, whilst you also "hold" your mom in her time of great need.

xxx Kari from Cape Town (and a proud owner of a Japanese flower shawl I have just finished after being inspired by yours)
