:: Little Man standing proudly beside his beach-creation, asking me sweetly if I could photograph it to show you all in the Attic. I think it thrills him to be able to tell his friends "my feet are On The Internet you know" ::
:: Little B delighting in his surroundings, he really, really loved the pebbles. He loved banging them together, turning them over and over in his hands, licking them (eew), and throwing them. Jeez, that boy can throw! We figured out on that first morning that we all had to be very careful not to sit in his direct line of projection. Far too dangerous ::
:: Loved watching my wee boy examine the various beaches we visited. There aren't many shells here, so when his big sister found one and gave it to him to play with, his little face honestly lit up, such a delight ::
:: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!! Little feet in little crocs, they are indeed very, very cutesome! My friend passed the baby crocs on to us when her daughter grew out of them, so it was pure coincidence that I also wear red ones. The above photo was Little B at the local park, just about to toddle off to climb up and whheeeeee down the slide ::
:: Making daisy chains on the front lawn at my Mums' house. Hmmmmm, Little Lady's painted finger nails, what can I say? I truthfully don't like her wearing nail varnish at all, but I allow her to have it on at the beginning of school holidays. I wonder if you can guess who's idea it was to alternate the colours, hers or mine???? ::
:: I would like to tell you that I created this arty natural sculpture, but no, it was in fact a pebble tower built purely for the boys' target practice session. It didn't even last a minute before I was sent to re-build it, honestly, what is it with my men folk and their throwing capabilities? ::
:: whilst on Eype beach collecting driftwood for the camp fire, Little Lady discovered this truly incredible pebble, it really made us smile :o) ::
:: I have a nostalgic love for these sweet pebbles-within-pebbles that I remember being fascinated with as a child. My Little Peeps gathered these ones for me, Little Lady says they look like our family represented in pebble form. I've got them sitting on the windowsill behind my desk, a lovely reminder of our holiday ::
:: Appreciating the bluebells in B's garden. We don't often get to see them in full flower as we are usually down in dorset too early, but this year a late Easter combined with very warm sunny weather had brought them into full flower ::
:: Little Lady's new purchase from Bridport toy shop. She saved up her pocket money for weeks in order to buy herself something special whilst on holiday, and after a huge amount of indecision and over excitement in the shop (always the case) she settled for this cute little Blythe doll. It accompanied her everywhere ::
:: Admiring the beautiful wisteria whilst enjoying a morning cuppa in an Abbotsbury cafe garden before climbing up to St Catherines Chapel ::
:: my toasted teacake that accompanied my tea in the wisteria-clad garden was delicious. The Little People had huge tall glasses of milkshake (declared yummy) and Little B slept soundly throughout ::
:: visiting Bridport's famous Saturday street market, always a pleasure. The above picture is of a traditional little greengrocers on South Street where we stopped to buy a bag of sweet tomatoes to munch on as we walked the mile back to the house. Isn't it wonderful to see such traditional and beautiful little shops still thriving? The market itself was fabulous this year, although extremely crowded. It's grown into a wonderful mixture of traditional market stalls (clothes, plants, food etc) alongside a whole street dedicated to bric a brac and vintage (a few pictures of the market here, to give you an idea of the atmosphere). Lots to see, tempt and inspire, I'll show you my purchases in a mo....::
:: Ahhhhhhhhhhh a visit *all-by-myself* to the most wondrous Girls Own Store, yippeeeee!!! I managed to wangle a whole TWO hours solo shopping/browsing time in Bridport which included the market, charity shops and a few other choice places such as this one. My-my, I do so love it in this shop. Aside from the desirable merchandise, the colour of the walls really sends my heart racing. Gorgeous. I made a few modest purchases in here, a red enamel mug and an enamel milk pan, both for Connievan ::
:: Vintage paraphernalia, gosh so very many objects-of-desire to be found at Bridport market. Lots of it was vastly overpriced in my humble opinion, but I couldn't resist shelling out six pounds for this darling little vintage enamel jug, it was love at first sight ::
:: I treated myself to a new mug from a funny little interior shop which has a surprisingly gorgeous collection of ceramics. It's by designer Gabriella Miller from her "Hippy" collection and I love drinking from it...it's beautifully heavy with a great handmade sort of feel to it ::
:: Oooooooooooo, now then, some stripy goodness!! I think every market in England probably has a Sock Stall doesn't it? These were very cheap, they're over the knee socks that I intend to wear with skirt and boots in the wintertime as i don't like wearing tights. Funnily enough I looked everywhere for these last winter and couldn't find them anywhere, well not in nice colours anyways. Very much looking forward to wearing them, although not for a while yet I hope ::
:: I bought some melamine cups by one of my fave companies Rice DK. I've lusted after these for a long time (along with stacks of other Rice products which cause The Wanties really badly). Like the enamel bits I bought, these are destined for Connievan...I'm thinking that tomorrow (!!) I shall be sitting in the 'van drinking chilled vino from the pink one! ::
:: 6am, sitting in the early morning sun wearing my favourite pyjamas, hooking up some stripes. Hot cup of tea to the right, sunlight streaming in through the window, this was my blissful early morning holiday ritual. The Stripy Something is almost finished, I'll be showing you very soon when it's all done and dusted ::
♥ wow, I've so enjoyed putting these holiday posts together, most especially this one. There's something appealing about a collection of random, mismatched snapshots which somehow seem to hold so much. These pictures to me just say "happy-happy-happy", which is what our family holiday time was I guess. Yes, it really was a hugely HaPpY week for us all.
♥ Thank you as always for sharing it with me, it seems to intensify the experience of remembering when I write it all out and then add in your wonderful comments on top. Thank you, thank you ♥

Thanks for the holiday in Dorset! Fab pics of hte whole thing then further back the gorgeous Strid Wood, we spent our honeymoon in Threshfield 20 years ago and we love Skipton. you just have a knack with your pics. I desperately want to go to Bridport this year I don't suppose you can recommend anyone's cottage through your connections ? or can you recommend a good B&B you know of? I am determined to get there this year and we will be going to Tunbridge Wells to see our grandchildren and then onto Dorset, probably through reading your blog as much as anything though of course there is also Enid B!!
