About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

As previous commentors have said, the best things in life ARE for free. Here's looking forward to calmer waters out there in the Land of Blog from now on. :)

often read your posts, had to comment because i cant agree with you more.xxx have a nice weekend

I love reading your little pleasures posts! I had a lovely moment last night when I finally got Leon to sleep (he's teething). He was laying quietly in my arms, I could hear the church bells ringing and a dog barking outside. And I just thought "ah this is nice"! :) Hope you have a lovely weekend. XxX

Thanks for your inspiration. The best things in life are free. Have a wonderful weekend.

Not only are your three pleasures this week F.R.E.E., I would have to say they are PRICELESS. Each of these is a memory to keep forever. Lock them away in your soul for safe keeping. Just think..you are back to normal after break next week. Enjoy every moment of the gang together this weekend. I'm hoping Mr. Post-ie will be paying you a visit soon and didn't miss you while away.

As always I cherish each snippet of your life you share, You know who

Love it!

Love the flowers, looks like a blanket!
Ye who like colourful things, stripey things...just have a look at www.mielie.com. The most beautiful handmade items from South Africa. Granted, nothing thrifty about it, but oh so joyful to behold :-)
(I 'earned' a bright rainbow striped Shelley bag after taking my boys to the in-laws for threeeee weeks).

At first glance, I thought the flowers was one of your lovely crocheted blankets! My eyes were mesmerized, and it took a few seconds for my brain to catch up. The pleasures that surround you are surely appreciated, and very nicely expressed too.

Often, the best things in life are free. It is so interesting to view the world through the eyes of a stranger across the ocean (I think you say "pond?") it makes you realize that we are all basically the same.

My first thought was "kids aren't free, just the opposite!" ;-)

I know the spirit in which you meant it, though. I love your colorful world - thanks for sharing.

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

There is so much in life to be grateful for, that we easily forget. Thank you for reminding us, and I'm happy to see you enjoying those "little" or ordinary things. Life is amazing, isn't it?!

Thanks for staying with us. Your creativity is inspirational and your blog makes for a lovely read.

Puppet Lady

There's love in all your pictures.

My Dear Amiga Lucy,
Great post! One of the key tenets of happiness is being able to savor small pleasures. I’d like to mention the small pleasures I enjoy that are worth more than anything money can buy, here's a list of some delights: hand holding, a hug from my children after a long day, crisp cotton sheets, a handwritten letter, the wind in my hair, singing during taking a hot shower and inspiring blogs like yours.
Hasta luego,
Gloria x

Another lovely post - inspiring. What a beautiful sky! x

Oh you cannot measure the pleasure of having your own littlies hand in yours. I often think that and their little hands all feel different in texture and grip (I have 3 kids too) total bliss. Nothing beats spending time with good friends. Comfy friends. Friends who make a cuppa and don't mind you curling your feet up on their sofa when you drink it.
Love Tickety-boo xxxx

Hello Lucy,
Aren't those polyanthus just the most beautiful sight? They are the flowers I look forward to buying in winter when all the other flowers are taking a big long nap. Your sunset is glorious, (you'll be fit from running up all those stairs). Little girls are wonderful. I have two except they are big girls now, nearly 21 and 18. They are still the most adorable, beautiful people and continue to delight me every day.
Have a beautiful weekend.
Anne xx

Lovely pleasures, I hope your weekend will be great! :-)
