:: Saturday :: 11pm ::
Just to let you know I've spent the last f i v e hours writing up the tutorials that accompany the thirty six pictures for these little decs. It's a shed load of work, and I am now very very tired, but I am really happy with them and I so hope you will give them a go.
Need to go to bed now, I'll double-check them tomorrow morning to make sure all is as it should be before I put them up for you. Just wanted to let you know you won't have long to wait!
Night night ♥

Ahhhhhhhh GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tis bright and sunny here today and after a great nights sleep I'm feeling on top of the world!
So.................been checking over the two tutorials I wrote in a frenzy last night and thankfully they do seem to be written reasonably well. My goodness, I was soooooo dog tired by the end of it, my brain had practically turned to a huge pile of wibbly wobbly jelly. So I'm quite pleasantly surprised to discover that my sentences do seem to read ok!
Earlier on I took a few photos of my cotton yarn for you, with an idea that I might chat a little about the art of Colour Combining. But Little B has just woken from his morning nap and truthfully I really don't have an awful lot of time today for chitter chatter. I promise I will try and write a more in depth colour-post during the week sometime, and for now I'll just leave you with some juicy pictures.......
Yum yum yum yum yummmmmm!!!!
Right....I've put my tutorials in the usual place in my sidebar, down at the bottom left hand side.
Here are the links...
Now before I dash off, there's one more little thing I'd like to mention. I’ve been pondering over my patterns for a while now, especially as I’ve had so many people keep telling me that really I should be selling them not giving them away for free. But truthfully, I just LOVE the whole sharing, giving nature of Blogland and I want that spirit to stay at Attic24. The idea of asking folk to pay up just doesn't sit right with me, although I understand that many designers do quite rightly charge for the huuuuuge amount of time and effort it takes to pull a pattern together.
So what I’ve come up with instead is a magical Paypal Donate Button. That way, you are all still more than welcome to use and enjoy all of my patterns for free and I am extremely happy for that to continue, but if you should so wish you can make a small donation. I put a button in my sidebar down at the bottom beneath the list of patterns (quite a Long List now!) plus each pattern page has a button at the very bottom.
Please please please don’t in any way feel obligated to do anything, I truly wish for my patterns to remain free and available and there for you all to have fun with.
But I was saying to J that if I am fortunate enough to receive any funds on the back of my patterns then yiippppeeeeee it will go straight into a yarn-buying pot to fund future projects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Woohooo!!!!!!!
It's very easy to use Paypal, and you don't even need a Paypal account to use it either (it'll take funds in your own currency from a credit card). But like I say, please feel free to ignore it and get stuck straight in with some Happy Hooking.
Thank you all very very very much as always for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for what I do, it means such a lot to me. And don't forget to let me see your decorations as you make them, and do also please add them into the Attic24 Inspired Flickr pool???
♥ Thank you ♥ thank you ♥ have a fabulous day!!

I just wanted to ask the same question as the ladies before me...I have been looking like forever to find a baby shoe pattern with no seam inside, so if you can tell us how to do that, I would be really grateful! Thanks!

Lucy -
In reference to my blog post of Dec. 5th, alot of people felt that I was very harsh and that I attacked your credibility. I feel that I only spoke my mind. I do admit though, that I should not of mentioned your name outright. It was not very nice or neighborly. I do apologize for that. In the spirit of nice and neighborly blogging - I will go back and amend my post. All the comments will be removed also.

Lucy,
You really should write a book so we could just have all your patterns and beautiful photos with us all the time! I'd also like pictures of your vacays in the book, and your connievan, and even your latte's! Hmmm, think I'll go make one right now and get crafting. You're the best Lucy. Thanks for your inspiration.
Cindy
PS thanks for posting the color combos. I love them and it's not something I very good at doing.

Lucy, you/your blog was the primary reason I was inspired to crochet again. I thank you for so generously sharing your patterns for free. You may change your mind about this later, but for now, thank you from one grateful follower :-) xx Josie

Dear Lucy,
Another year as passed and I am still reaping the benefits of finding your blog as are the many people that know me. Your exuberant personality is enough to keep me coming back, but you have such a talent for teaching (technical writing is your thing) you write your patterns out in such detail..you don't miss a stitch. This is where other pattern writers fail..they make assumptions and leave little things out, which confuse the beginner or novice. You do none of that. You really have a talent. You are a GEM! I second or third or fourth the book idea, but know you are not at the right stage in your life...too busy with little ones...unless of course you can get a book advance and hire a full-time help which you put together a book. I hope that one of your many readers or someone they know...knows someone in the publishing industry because your book would sell like hotcakes. If anything your blog should have more advertisers...when and if you have more time in your life, you can really create a business out of your blog. You have the following and you have the talent. Donations are a coming! :)
Thanks Lucy for all you have given me. Happy Holidays!
Love Lori in Florida, USA! ;)

Hi Lucy, I have recently found your beautiful blog and all your lovely crochet - what a clever cookie you are!! I have just finished crocheting one of these gorgeous stars and had to let you know how well it came up! I was v happy!! Thank you for all the time you have put into these, they work fantastically well. I know how much effort it takes with a family to achieve anything for yourself, so WELL DONE! I enjoy the little peek into Attic land you provide so I hope you keep finding time for blogland! Have a great week! Cheers Julie

I want to give you a great big hug. If I lived close I'd bake you a pizza or something. You are such an artist and a generous person. I love your work and have been following your blog for a while. Will crochet a bird for sure. Thanks.

Hi Lucy,
I've written a post talking about Attic 24 and your beautiful work on my blog. I hope you don't mind!
I love your work and your style, and have been doing so for a long time! Thanks a lot!
Friendly yours,

Thank you so much, Lucy.
As always, your tutorials are clear and friendly and fun to follow.
I think that I will have to try some of these little pointy pillows ... they might also make great sachets or pin cushions.
Happy Christmas to you!

As a terribly broke student, your patterns absolutely make my day (/last several years). When I can afford yarn, it's always in fabulous 'attic 24' colours - i'm mid way through 2 of your wonderful blankets :). I appreciate so much your keeping them free, especially as the immense time and effort that goes into them is clear... Next year I shall hopefully be qualifying as a doctor, and then I shall be donating to your paypal fund with my first paycheck - tribute for keeping me so wonderfully occupied when not immersed in the text books!
Thank you so much!

All very nice, but I have a question to ask.
Where to buy this beautiful wool? Internet?

Thanks for the time you put into sharing with us. I will be looking forward to your talk about color combinations. This is not always easy to figure out and any light shed on the subject is most welcome. :)

These are absolutely beautiful. I will be sharing tomorrow at www.tangledhappy.blogspot.com. Thank you for sharing!

It's lovely of you to not want to charge for your patterns and tutorials. But if you were to put some of them together into a book, with all the pretty pictures, you couldn't stop me from buying it, for the aesthetic value alone, not to mention the juicy patterns.
Just a thought.

What is going on in the Crochet World? Has everyone gone mad? I saw that one blog....talking of copying....Geeesh.
The World is crumbling around us, A24, and people are worried about who came up with an idea. Afterall, there is only so much one can do with a crochet stitch....Its not like the Philisophical study of the Universe or anything.
