About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Lucy, this post is just the shot of colour necessary to cheer a really dreary day.
Your blanket looks swell, how you manage to do it all escapes me, but hats off to you woman, you are doing a fine job!
Im loving the style of the blanket too, with different sizes...hooky happenings here are rather slow of late, Im trying to work out a snood pattern...time will tell!

Sending love

It's looking really good :)

Oh, my...it is going to be GORGEOUS!!!

Loving the progress on your new blanket. I'm just launching into a stripey one before our baby arrives in Jan. Looking forward to more updates on your progress and I'd love to know how you make your sweet granny squares as they are so cute even if they do gobble up time!

Super duper, how nice for little B to have a friend come to play!

I just discovered your blog in recent weeks, Lucy. Your bright, mixed, spontaneous color choices appeal to me and have inspired me to pick up my hook again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work, your thoughts and especially your well-done tutorials. It is a pleasure to visit you online.

Blanket is sooooo beautiful! I LOVE your navy bag with the 3 houses on it? Is it Cath Kidston? I have to have one!!!

Toe curling square - call me weird but I like those colors together. :o) It's coming together quite nicely Lucy! xoxo

Enjoy your blog so much...your sneaking in crochet time, the results, the colors! I love your love of color!

Oh what a lovely blanket. I too am making a blanket right now in the little snatches of time we mummy's get in between everything else.

It's probably going to take until all three of my children are in school before it's finished (about another 3 years)!

Happy hooking!

I have to admit...I'm jealous! I'd love a Heather!!! My 3 yr old thinks he's funny if he takes off running with a skein of yarn and a nasty little chuckle...=0)

HoHaHo indeed! I have just finished my first ever crochet blanket and can't wait to start a new one! I might have to pinch your different-sized-squares idea, if you don't mind :)

Hi Lucy , love how your latest blanket is coming along. Its gorgeous.
Did you see Kirsty's Homemade home last night ?
I liked the programme but the crochet part was SUCH a letdown :0(
Wish she had come to see you and all your colouful crochet goodness , that would have been amazing.

What a lovely blankie! It does remind me of a babette, actually! I was missing one of these hooky posts of yours! thanks for sharing and for the colourful pics, Pati from London x

Great photos - love all the colours

HI Lucy, I LOVE the flower granny blanket. I too feel like I have bitten off more than I can chew with the blanket I am crocheting. Its taking forever - half an hour to do one row, yes just ONE ROW! I think I should have done granny squares. Much quicker and more satisfying. I keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end when its over my knees or over the bed. Your blog always makes me feel uplifted and happy after visting. Love to you and your family. Debs. XX

I love this blanket - it looks just like a beautiful patchwork quilt but in yarn instead of fabric. Whenever I visit your blog I have to fight the urge to go and start something hooky right this very minute! You are so inspiring.

I think the colours are absolutely beautiful! I really need to get my blanket finished.....x

Your blanket is just LOVELY! I hope you find more time for some HoHaHo to finish it off! You've inspired me to get busy with some hooky today - I'm going to have a go at making your wrist warmers, will let you know how I get on!

It's looking beautiful! God bless friends like Heather :)

Another beautiful blanket in the making Lucy! :O) xx

Dear Lucy
I have your Blog in my Bloglist...and I love your colorful Crochetplanket!!!And all the others crochet-things! The Colors are soo great!!
All good Things need Time, is ok so, no Stress!!
All good wishes for you, Rita from switzerland

The loss of natural light thing really does make matters tricky - I remember trying to knit a black cardigan in the evenings last year. It was not good.

How lovely to have Heather so close to hand, I read her blog and just became a follower, she is such a lovely person, so I can understand that the both of you would get on so well, and her loving Little B.
Love your blankie, another cheerful one to keep your spirits up as you hook your way through the darker months.
Take care Lucy xx Sandi
