Dear Lucy,
Thank you for your nice weblog. I really like all these happy color combinations. They are beautiful!

I mail you because I have a website, www.kralen.com (kralen = Dutch word for beads, I'm from Netherlands) and I just want to let you know I've mentioned your website as 'weblog of the month' on my newsletter (sent to a little bit more then 12.000 mailaddresses , on http://www.kralen.com/nieuwsbrief.php?id=93 you can see the news letter) and on my website http://www.kralen.com/Home/Welkom/Nieuws/Weblog%20van%20de%20maand/420/ , which has +- 700 visitors per day. The website is a Dutch website about beads / making jewellery. So it's maby a bit strange to recommend a weblog about crochet ;-) but I recommend 2 weblogs per month, one about beads and one about any other hobby. Simply because sometimes there are weblogs which deserves some extra attention and almost all the visitors also have other hobbies. But also, jewellery designers especially like color combinations and I think your pictures can also be inspiring for them.

Me myself is a real crochet starter. I started to learn it in the beginning of this year. I really like it now! It's really relaxing to do some crochet after a hard day work. You can just grab it and go on where you were. It also don't need so many attention, which I really like when I'm tired but want to do something. Just for fun I mail some pictures. http://fotos.kralen.com/haakwerk_maakvolgorde.jpg are the first granny's I started with. I've already made a lot more but need some time to needle them to each other (didn't have time yet to practice on other squares yet...). I really liked to do it! Just make a lot of different color combinations and see how it look like...But I'm still a learner, for example better ways to knot the new threads on it. ;-)

http://fotos.kralen.com/biggrannysquare.jpg is my second project. Finally finished, only need time to get it more straight and make a cushion of it.

http://fotos.kralen.com/flowers.jpg is what I made when I wanted to crochet and also had the time/energy to make something new. ;-)

Now I'm very happy with my new project http://fotos.kralen.com/flowersquares.jpg . I went to the shop to buy fabrics for my 2 cushions and saw a very nice fabric, I really wanted to buy it! So I searched on the internet for a pattern with round / flower granny square where you can use 3 colors for the flower. I finally found one and I am every evening busy with it now. I really like those colors!! It's also very addictive to do...curious how the next color combination will look like...In november me and my sister are going to follow a workshop about amigurimi / 3d objects. Think there's a lot to learn! ;-)

Anyway, let's don't bother you with a too long e-mail. ;-) I just wanted to let you know I like your weblog and I hope you received extra visitors from the Netherlands.

kind regards,
Sandra

Love the combo of the big squares and little squares - very pleasing. I crochet down my local boozer (and sew sometimes too), but always on my own. And before that makes me sound like Nelly No Mates, I do have my husband with me - it's just that he doesn't crochet. It would be so cool if he did...!
