"I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying"
I just LOVE the above verse from John Masefield's famous poem "Sea-Fever".
Today I am frantically trying to get us all ready for the three hundred mile journey South to see my folks, we're off in a couple hours.
Tomorrow I'll be sitting in the exact spot above, drinking a frothy cappuccino and eating brunch, looking out over the harbour. Can't wait.
To the Sea we go................see you next week ♥

Hope you're having a lovely time!
I wanted to recommend an author/illustration to you - Clare Beaton (clarebeaton.com). I just bought my 8 month old baby a board book of nursery rhymes by her and it's wonderful. All of the illustrations are made using felt applique, ribbon, beads etc. So detailed and lovely. I thought of you straight away! If you check her out I hope you enjoy.

Hmmm... I always thought the official version was -
I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sands and sky.
I left my vest and pants down there, I wonder if they're dry.
Enjoy your coffee!

I am so enamoured by your blog! The colors you use for your hookie creations are such an inspiration to me to create something bright & cheery. I started hooking in Febr. & I'm addicted! I try to imagine what your wall of yarn must look like to have so many colors in use at one time! Keep it up & thank you for taking time out to write about it. Lovin' your life from Kansas!

Oh, I have just read two books by Gil McNeil about a woman who inherits a yarn shop in a small British seaside town, now I don't know what to do, I've run out of books and tea and have an urge to travel to see the piers and tides irl...! Lucky you :)

You have to tell me what your secret is. You keep popping up on my Blog Frog, like you are home and stopping by for a peek. But, I know your are at the shore, sipping on a grand old Ice Tea and have a bun.

Have fun! Thats a long drive with little ones - I know because its 250 miles to my parents and 4 hours can seem like a life time sometimes. Drive safely.
