About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

No matter what the weather was like it all looked brilliant! Especially the carrot cake and chips!!

OMG!! Fish & Chips the Sea the everything!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Lucky for taking us alongbon your magic carpet ride. XOXO

Must have been awesome! We live near the coast and boy, was it wild! Your writing is great, can't wait for the next installment.

What lovely wild and big sea pictures you captured there! I think thats why I like the seaside in the winter sometimes best of all because of Big Seas like those! Glad you had a lovely hol, nice to have you back too!

The Garden Bell

What's that I hear?

The door slamming as Scooter is on his way for a slice of his favorite cake.

He was peeking over my shoulder and ran out lickity split.

That solo cloud I love, it looks like the state of Florida. And then the waves pics sealed the deal for me.

Until I saw the Fries on the pier. I too, am on my way.

Perfect way to start my Monday,

So glad to have you back. I'm happy you had such a good time with your family. The pictures are all so lovely. I'm vacationing vicariously through your posts. Now that I've had my little Lucy fix I think I'll go make some cupcakes with your recipe.

Sorry you had rain but the paddling looked such fun! Glad you are back and refreshed!

Lucy's back and I soooo enjoyed seeing a snippet of your beautiful coastal area holiday spot! Childhood vacation places are always so special in our hearts....I have mine too! Happy you are "Home" Sweet Home ;0) Robin

Lovely pictures. Glad you had a lovely time. We've been down there too this last week at our favourite Swanage and Purbeck and we had the same weather as your. Not so much fun though as we were in a tent! There was one night when I thought the tent was literally going to take off with us inside it and I lay there thinking how crazy(and irresponsible) I must be to be camping in the UK while 24 weeks pregnant! Sounds like you had a much more jolly time. Love the picture of the chips by the way. Looking forward to hearing about Lyme Regis. x

Just catching up with your blog after a couple of weeks away. Glad you've had a lovely summer! xx

Oooh Lucy, looks very atmospheric.... and the chips - it's a rule isn't it - if at the seaside, must have fish and chips, with salt, whilst outside breathing in the fresh air.
Michelle, nearly spring here in Australia.

Hi Lucy
Thought I'd just pop in and say hello.. I've recently found your blog and think it's great.
Your photo's are always so lovely and I love reading what you've been up too.
Glad you had a good holiday.

It's always wonderful returning home to a snug refuge that is cozy and welcoming! Enjoy a wonderful week.....

Glad to hear the sunshine in your voice despite the wetness you encountered- and I'm happy you are back home in the attic!!!! Loved this post and can't wait to hear all about Lyme Regis!

It makes me smile to see your dorset photos whenever you go,fx as we seem to follow each other round the country! Was in the same place a couple of weeks ago - and also spend every summer there ( family house in charmouth) - we managed to have slightly better weather than you - but when it chucks it down it really goes for it down there!

Looks like a lovely spot. We're just home from a three week vacation in the country. Sure is nice to be home, isn't it?

Oh Lucy I so can't wait till tomorrow. I have spent today in Lyme Regis! My most favourite place in the whole world. It was blustery and we got very wet in the sudden showers but it doesn't matter in Lyme. We've spent holidays there as a couple and are now enjoying taking our not-quite-2 year old on day trips there. Next year we're looking forward to our Lyme holiday. By the way did you visit the new vintage shop, so very fabulous :)

I just love to travel vicariously with you. Your high school English teacher must have loved you because you journal such a captivating story. I started reading your blog because I loved your crochet work but am enjoying your holidays just as much.

Looks lovely Lucy!~

can't wait for the next post

Oooooooohh what simply gorgeous photos Lucy! Looks like you had a fab time, I'm so glad.
See you soon! xxxx

Lovely pictures, especially of the beach and the BIG waves. A very happy post. Can't wait to hear about Lyme Regis as I've never been there ;)
