  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Salut Lucy.

Another dreamy post. Hope you managed your early night without too much disturbance.

I just added your site to my One Lovely Blog Award post http://www.organikal.com/2010/08/18/one-lovely-blog-organic/.

Because it is lovely, after all :)

Thanks to you and your great tutorial Lucy I am on my way to complete my first crochet project.
There'll be no stopping me soon!

Dear Lucy I hope you get a few more of those quiet refreshing moments today. I can't wait to see what those tubes become! And thank you sooo much for your sweet and welcoming comment on my blog. x x x

Ah, the wonders of patience. I have a child who loves to make things but he is only four, luxuries like "prep" and "drying time" do not exist in our house. I too saw the post by the teawagon ladies. Is it wrong to want to make the mini-mes myself when the kids are in bed?!?!

That book looks utterly delicious! I went and read the preview pages on amazon and now I'm going to have to keep my eye out for it.

I could sit and look at this post all morning - like your new book it all looks very comforting and cosy - hope you had a good nights sleep??

Teething - yikes....thankfully it's not forever.

take care and much love,

Nina xxx

The Coffee Lady

Right. We are definitely doing the toilet roll thing, and I've ordered that book from the library.

Stop giving me ideas. I don't have time for them.

Nice to hear that I am not the only one with a home that is... lets not talk about it as you said. While everyone I know restore, build new kitchens and decorate their homes into perfection let say I struggle to keep up with that. After almost a decade moving around the world and living in furnished places we almost have nothing in our name and my house is quite big. And empty. And absolutely far from ready or perfect. But the dream is there and daily I sketch down ideas of storage and practical cheap solutions. Maybe this book can help me in the right direction somewhat.

But I just induldged myself in some great patchwork book purchases... When you can't hook you have to find another way of expressing that need for creative motion so have managed to drag out my sewing machine. Yeeeaahh! Can't wait for my delivery.

Thanks for making me feel just normal with a normal home and a normal (but ugly - shocking actually!!!) pyjamas. It is easy to think everyone lives in a perfect home published in the best of Interior design mags, but just like the perfect bikini body that is not true for us normal people.

PS If no one has told you yet (ha ha ha) your granny squares look yummy.

It's so great to hear from you Lucy, you just make everyone else's day smiley. Love what you're doing with the blanket and I love the "me" time too.

Hugs XX

It sounds like a beautiful way to spend an evening and the summer holiday! Sweet dreams!

Never Knew

Yes, you've lost the plot somewhat, but in a good way. :-)

Enjoy your holidays.
Caz :)

nn-Gah! I must eat that little cupcakey thing! It looks scrump-dilly-icious!! Did you make it? DO SHARE! Yummy yummy yummy! Pink and white icing w/sprinkles! Must have! Must have!! :-D

Hang in there Lucy and enjoy the quiet moments.

Ohhhhhh I just LOVE your mug! I posted a picture of my little rainbow set yesterday. But yours is all wiggly! I'm jealous =]

Your new blanket is looking lovely. :)
Looking forward to seeing you all in toilet roll form!!

Hi there, I can't wait to see your finished T-roll family, especially your mini grannies! Yay! Have fun, I warn you though it's addictive, love fRom Jane xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Sweet Flower Blanket is looking good. :) I'm wondering how do you make the little leaves underneath the petals? I also saw the Teawagon's project and I'd like to give it a try with a Christmasy feel in the near future.
I'm very content spending some relaxing time at home like you...........................There's no place like home, amiga Lucy.
Hasta pronto,

Melissa P

I cannot wait to see what becomes of your newly prepped Tubes!

Night Lucy, sweet dreams. We're back to school tomorrow up here in Aberdeenshire - 6 weeks have gone by in a flash. Not entirely sure I'm ready for the next round of routine, but we'll roll with it and see how it goes. I've switched from crochet to knitting for a change - BIG LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGG cashmerino scarf for the winter. And I too have that book, a selfish purchase just a couple of weeks ago, but loving it immensely. Right, off to dreamland myself now. L x

I love the granny squares with the little flower in the middle. You are so clever.

So you finally got enough toilet paper rolls!

Enjoy your relax-y time, it sounds wonderful. I love those days when there is just a little more pajama time, we had a nice drizzly one the other day.

Hola Lucy:

Siempre me alegra visitarte, me alegro que hayas pasado unas estupendas vacaciones.

Saludos desde Costa Rica

Dear Lucy just dropping by as I take a break from doing the first row of my ripple
blanket. A relaxing day with no plans are the ones that I really enjoy, wandering out into the garden, having a cup of tea, well
just pottering really!!! Covering tubes with crochet sounds like a fun idea. Be sure to show us. Love Sarahx
