About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I love reading your blog.what happy, bright colours you use in your granny squares. My late grandmother taught me to crochet, but looking at your articles I think I will have to use some extra brightness in my crochet work. I live on the edge of the outback.. Australia, and the colours in nature here are mainly Blue sky, Red earth, purple hues in the rocks and green in my garden.I love your writings and will keep reading..Marjorie

What a colorful and cozy home you have. Thank you for showing it to us!!!

Don't even consider de-cluttering, Lucy, your home is everything a home should be!
There's a strong whiff of the Kaffe Fassetts about No24 (but I don't think he ever wrote a book about hooking, so Boo! to him).

Hey there! I am new to your blog. I was refered to you to learn how to make granny squares and all you other fabulous creations! I am very new to crocheting. I love your tutorials. They are perfect for me and I love the pictures. I was curious, would you be willing to share a tutorial for those stars? I was trying to look at them and guess but I'm not that skilled yet. Just wondering. :)

Thanks so much!

Mary (US)

Hello Lucy

I can see why you would be happy coming back home after a holiday. You can tell from the photos that there is a good atmosphere about your house, it looks warm, cosy and inviting. Glad you had a good time in Dorset, one of my favourite places too. I lived there for 3 years in the 80's and I absolutely love it!

Have a lovely weekend
Warm wishes

Even though you say that it's the "before" picture, I'm quite charmed by the warm sunshine, and all the evidence of a happy, busy family. Glad you're back!

Love the garland and I can't wait to make a pretty cushion like the one in your chair. So nice!!!

The Gingerbread Lady

Oh, your home looks like mine - in terms of the creative stacking and the artful bric-a-brac displays. ... Oh no, we're not calling it clutter, are we? Let's all just pretend it was done on purpose, right? Shhhh. It'll be our secret...

The Garden Bell - Kate

Isn't just SWEEEEEET to come home to your own place after holiday. Holiday is always so nice, but the return some how tops the cake. Love having a little peek around 24. What time is tea?

Have a great weekend.

Haven't been up to posting today. Out taking too many flower pictures and pulling to many weeds in the bed. Should get some tulips and Magnolia tree pictures up tomorrow. It's finally spring here... yipeee

It's so good to have you back Lucy! I know it must be lovely for you to be with your folks by the sea and all,but we really do miss you when the attic is empty!
