I've had a desire to crochet myself a wreath for a long time :: for as long as I've been crocheting flowers I've wanted to make a flowery wreath to make use of the flowery flowers. But the truth is I could never really be bothered to think about the logistics of making the actual wreath itself. Something a little over-complicated about wreath construction. Too complex. Too brain-freezy to think about. But I did really want to be able to make one and the idea would not go away. It sat there patiently in the tangled ric-rac of my creative mind, awaiting a time when I might be able to give it a go.
Over the past year or so I've been drooling over some beautiful wreathy inspiration in Flickrville :: there's even a group pool dedicated to this very thing. Yes it's true! Check it out, it's called "we love wreaths too!". And recently I've created my own little Wreathy Gallery over at Flickr, which you can look at here. Scrummy aren't they?
Yes, I do adore wreaths. Love that they are so pretty and decorative, but essentially non-essential. Frivolous. A bit of fun really aren't they? And I do like to have a bit of pretty frivolous fun around the Attic, sure I do.
So.............A tutorial for this little Springtime Wreath?
Of course I can do you a tutorial!!!
In fact, it's all done and dusted!!!
Especially for you my friends!!!
So you can hook yourselves your own bit of Pretty Frivolous Fun!!!
!!!! Hahaha, I do apologise for the excessive exclaiming, but I'm a tad overexcited about this wreathy business, do forgive me !!!!
hmm, yes I'm calming down now...you can find the tutorial in the usual Sidebar-location, or click HERE to find it.
You must promise to let me know if you give it a go, perhaps post some pretty and frivolous wreathy photos over at the Attic24 Inspired group on Flickr. Yes, please do, I'd like that very much.
Lots of love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Edited to add :: thanks to those of you who let me know the link to the tutorial was not working, so sorry!! Its fixed now xxx
I just read it in the tutorial what kind of wool you use.
So sorry for that.
thanks.

This wreath is too cute! My mother has a wreath for every season and every holiday, so I may make her a wreath similar to this one. It's a great idea! :-)

I have made the wreath - I added a picot edge to the outside. Also added a birdie. You can see the picture on the Attic24 inspired Flickr group. I very much enjoyed this tutorial. Love the blog - so colourful and joyful.

Lucy,
I'm curious what brand yarn or at least the fiber content of the yarn you used in this darling wreath? The colors are so bright and vivid - I love it!
