Took this photo today at 10:57am, it perfectly captures a little patch of Saturday Morning Bliss.
Me still in my pyjamas.
Pink lolloppy-flopsy tulips on the table.
Mug of frothy coffee in favourite morning mug.
A spot of relaxed flower-making (a new project on the go, more of that very soon)
And the most deeee-lish new book just delivered and unwrapped but not-yet-opened.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: floppy tulips. One of your commenter's a while ago suggested putting 3 coins (copper ones I think) into the water. I have been doing that and I can honestly say that it works. Compared to what used to happen to my lovely tulips before they are now really straight. I've done it about 3 times now. It probably leeches minerals into the water which is drawn up through the stems. Anyway I am a convert! Am always intrigued by the Japanese books but not confident enough to feel I would know what is going on as they are not in English. Love your colourful flowers!

Happy Mother's Day Lucy. Am enjoying similar day - coffee, flowers, new craft book, but accompanied by knitting. Making a tutu and ballet shoes for a teddy, as you do!

Nice to see you are getting a little time in to crochet. Hope that means that the little one is settling down a bit and giving you a more settled time too.
Look forward to hearing about the new project.
Cheers

Dear Lucy oh those flowers in your post
look wonderful. Was experimenting myself
yesterday evening with crochet flowers(inspired by all the different colours
of polyanthus I have around the house.)
I was down at our local gardening shop(a small family run concern) in the walled garden annex,it has some lovely little gift stuff when I spotted some cards, bought a couple and on arriving
home was delighted to find the following quote inside that I immediately linked with your outdoors Sunday post;
"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to
play with your hair." kahlil Gibran.
Have a lovely weekend!!

Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday morning. I work all week, so on Saturdays I like to head out to my favorite yarn and sewing shop to treat myself. Or to my favorite antiques shops! Enjoy your weekend!!!!

Looks like the perfect morning! Any chance you could share the ISBN # for the book? I would love to try and find it at my local Japanese bookstore.

Lucy, I wish you a very happy Mothering Sunday! Over here in the States we have our official Mother's Day later on in the year ... in May.
Many thanks as always for the joy that you send out to the world with each of your posts. Cheers!

Looks like a perfect day to me! The book looks very interesting, I only recently discovered the joys of Japanese crochet and those fantastic charts! Can't wait to see what's inside the cover :-)

It does look like a perfect Saturday morning. You'll have to let us know how you like the book, it is a beautiful cover. Gorgeous tulips as well.

So, now I know you are really talented. You can read Japanese. What can you not do? Such a peaceful looking morning. Can I stop by for a cup of coffeee.
Hugs for a sunny beach today,

I always find your blog so inspiring...every time I look at it it makes me smile. It's really shown me how to appreciate the little moments of beauty in life...and also to show me some beauty! It's just a wonderful little moment to curl up with my tea and my laptop and peek into your world :)

BRILLIANT , good on you for some personal time! DO tell us what the book is, where to get one like it as I 2 adore Japanese crochet books but can't find how to get hold? I borrowed some of a friend who went to Tokyo but that alas is not a option for me, not for ages and ages anyway.
Ta for the inspiration!
