Cake looks so good--did J like it? Did you serve it with ice cream or just cream. What did he have for celebration supper? And, last question, does Little B love color yet?? xxKaren

What beautiful daffodils. Lovely color. Your zig zaggy afghan is going to be quite nice. Can't wait to see it done.

Glad you had a nice day and shared it here. You're a bright spot in the blogosphere.

Happy Birthday J!

Hey Lucy, I follow your posts without fail and you've been an inspiration to me. I am making a bag for which i used your pattern. I loved the balanket that you are making now. I know the pattern for the squares however i am not able to understand the pattern used for the zigzags. I will be greatful if you can post the pattern.

Loads of love from India

Hi, have just discovered your blog and love it.
Living in Australia, its great to read what is happening in your world. So different (weather wise) but so similar in lots of other ways.

The pale yellow of the daffodils are a fun change from the usual bright yellow! Adoring your zigzaggy baby blanket. It is going to be so unique and cute!

Happy Birthday to J! It is my birthday, also, but I am 50! I love the flowers and the cake, but I REALLY love the blanket! I am so glad you are going to the cafe again...wish I had one to go to! Have fun and are we ever getting pics of baby?

Five daffs opened their eyes for me in my front yard just before a big storm came through and laid them all down. I went out and rescued them to my front room so I could admire them at any time of the day or night. I can't believe I actually GREW some flowers on my own!
I'd love a big slice of that birthday cake with an equally large glass of ice cold milk...that would make my heart skip skippy happy!
Your little baby ripple afghan is so pretty! Spring like in all it's colors!

Oh Lucy, that cake looks soooooooo good! You are quite the baker, my friend! Happy birthday J! Enjoy!

Your pictures are so colorful and cheerful! The chocolate cake gives an extra happy feeling for today!!

So glad you had such a nice day! We are having another major snowstorm today here in Pa. It is looking like the hubby gets to have another very long weekend from teaching his vo-tech kids. I am happy today I made 5 new bibs for my son, he has CP and needs them because he isn't able to control his drooling. I usually wind up doing things for other people & not myself or family.

Oh Lucy~ I don't know which looks the best to me right now-the flowers, the squares or that cake!
Please stop by when you have a minute-I have posted about your fabulous blog. I had my first granny square lesson this morning... it looks really funny-and I want to make these sooo badly! Anyway-do stop by for a quick, quick visit! Happy Birthday to your dear hubby.

cake looks delich, Lucy..

Glad you had a satisfying day. ^_^ Can't wait to see how the blanket turns out!

you know, I leave your blog up all day long so I can look at your pretty pictures.

Hi Lucy, this are the 3 things that made me happy today:
1. The home insurance company agreed to pay for the shower glass enclosure that crashed on my hubby this morning (fortunately he is fine!)
2. A lovely chat and catch up with my friends Anabelle and Zoe.
3. Your blog, which, as usual, put a smile on my face.
Night, night, Pati, the Spaniard from London xx

I get heart-skip-skip-skippy-happy just reading your blog!
And from the frangipani flowering in our garden, and from the aroma of banana cake in my oven, and my far-too-many-to-mention projects in progress - so even though we're on other sides of the world we're having a similar day!!

You really are going to make me learn to crochet, you know!

Happy birthday dear "serial crocheteuse" as we can say in France! I am always enjoyed by your blog, your colourful creativity and your good mood. I always feel in the mood for crocheting with a lot of colours. Thank you so much. Best wishes,
Laurence (from Paris-France)

birthdays are in the air. my hubby turned 41 yesterday. love the baby afghan you are making, the zigs and zags are wonderful.

I really love your blog! Your crochet projects are so beautiful and colorful. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations to the Attic24 Granny Square you invented. Honestly, it's absolutetly fabulous and so much better looking than the one from the book. And as you say, it has too many holes in it.

I am very envious on you for the daffodils. You know, I live in Sweden and we have more than 1 metre of snow. Do you think we will ever get spring? I don't think so.
