Oh how I love these! I have my white yarn and glitter ready! I will be making some this week! Thank you for sharing! :)

How exciting to be name-checked on Attic24!

So pleased you enjoyed the snowflakes. I have to say though, sorry for not being more clear in my earlier message, I am not sure whether the pva method works on wool snowflakes - I only tried it on fine crochet cottons snowflakes like these http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=775807. WARNING - these patterns will really give you brain freeze!!!
I hope someone tries it and lets us know!

Naomi Rainford

These are great! thanks for sharing!

Linda Kristin from Norway

Thanks so much for sharing the pattern! The only hard thing about crocheting (and sometimes that goes for knitting too, is to figure out the pattern..

About starch, I remember my grandmother would always starch her fine croched items with milk!

I will definitely make some of these, but I may not find the time this Christmas...

Thank you for the tutorial, I just startet.....

Miss Butterfly

Thanks sooo much for the "translated" pattern ..I can't understand crochet ...unless u do the explaining !

Your snowflakes are so pretty and thanks for the tip about spray starch not sure I can find this particular one in France but will try !!!

Gorgeous. When I finish my (endless) gift knitting, I'll give them a go. Well done, lovely.

Darn it, Lucy. Do I need another must-do project before Christmas? I tried crocheted snowflakes a couple of years ago, but the pattern wasn't clear (to me) and so the brain froze. Can't wait to try yours out! I've already trotted upstairs and rummaged around in the stash for white yarn.
Thanks so much for the inspiration!!

Hi, Lucy!
I just love your snowflakes, but be careful. This could lead to lace crochet, and I'm envisioning some very colorful doilies!

They are beautiful. Another "must Do" thanks for beeing so generous with your time, Linda

The Curious Cat

Gosh you are talented! They look wonderful! I want to see them with glitter!!! I do! I do!!! And hung up!!! xxx

Oh, my. I've made two already! The hardest part was finding any white yarn. :)

Thank you so much for the pattern Lucy. I have been trawling the net for a snowflake pattern and yours is exactly what I was looking for. Best wishes, Pj x

Fiona B.

Love the idea of stringing the snowflakes vertically!
Hope you will share a picture of yours completed and hung by the window.
Thanks, Lucy

Lucy this is wonderful! Perfect for this time of year I think, they're going to look great in your window! Thanks for the tip on the spray starch, Ive been after some for a while myself - and its always good to have something recommended!!

Lucy, they are absolutely fantastic. I love them. I have been making the twinkle stars in ecru as snowflakes which are great too, but these are gorgeous. So snowflakey. Great job, and thanks for sharing a tutorial with us.

Your snowflakes are wonderful. Your tutorial makes it sound so much easier ... I definitely need to give it a try. Thank you.

It´s fabulous, Lucy!! in all it´s whiteness!! Although here in Brazil Christmas is always hot(it´s Spring time), nobody resists to snowflakes for home decoration...
Can´t wait to try it!!

Elena, Moscow

Thanks, Lucy!
I was a little bit taken aback with various snowflake instructions at various sites (they were complicated). But I am sure yours will be easy to crack. ;-)

Isabelle Kessedjian

Merci beaucoup j'adore!

You are absolutely right about the brain freeze and your patterns have saved me from it more times than I care to mention. I just love how you write them in actual English!! If it weren't for your patterns Lucy I would never have persevered with crochet (which would have been very sad indeed). I've said it before, but I will say it again... THANK YOU for making such wonderful patterns for us all to follow.

And I can't believe you actually managed a white blog post!! A miracle!

Beautiful! I'm sharing with a friend...

Ah Luce, this is brill. I took my hook along to the cottage this weekend and some yarn I had bought for making snowflakes (fairly tacky acrylic stuff to be honest, but it has shiny thread through it which I thought would be good), intent on snow flake making. I didn't do any and I'm glad I didn't because now here you are with what will no doubt be a fabby pattern. Thanks, Luce - you're a star (a snowflakey one...)

Ah, thank you for this - I tried the stars, honestly I did, but your instructions are so much easier to follow ...
