Before I start rambling away today, I really first of all want to say a huge big ((ThAnK yOu)) to you for all the lovely, wonderful things you had to say about my Advent Garland last week. I'm really happy you like it as much as I do.
It's one of those things that actually turned out far better in real life than in my (rather muddled) imagination. And I do think it's also one of those things which will become a definite Festive Family Tradition in the Attic24 house. A year-after-year thing which will see us counting down the days to Christmas for years to come. And that makes me reeeeeeeeeally happy to think of that.In fact, I was thinking that exact thing as I was busy finishing off all the button-back circles over the weekend. Making those little stitches and hoping I'll love this creation of mine as much next year as I do this year. Hoping the Little People will love it as much too, that it'll become part of their childhood memories of Christmas.
They seem to be enjoying the whole Advent Thing a great deal this year and are fascinated with counting down the days, so my Garland is proving very effective as well as decorative.
How many sleeps until Christmas? Count the stars!
Advent is really well under way now isn't it?? Already the 7th day (17 stars to go), my-my, I can hardly catch my breath with it all at the moment.I've been busy these last couple of days Shopping :: shopping for baby-related things and shopping for Christmas related things. I am still desperately behind with it all, beginning to feel a little pressure, and disappointingly also suddenly finding myself very, very weary doing normal every day things. I'm feeling slow and heavy and frustrated to be perfectly honest.
But......it's OK, I just need to adjust my pace, need to slow myself down, need to start resting up more.
So hard though! So hard when I have so many plans, when my creativity is so sparky, when Clutter Mountain is still so high, when Christmas is so close, when Bump24 is so...well not so far from being ready to land!
Hoping to Deck the Halls here at Attic24 this coming weekend, and I really do need to get the place shipshape in preparation.
So this week, my plan is to try and ignore the powerful urge to constantly create (my lampshade is half-way decopatched, my quilt is screeeeeaming to come out of my imagination and into reality, my snowflake garland needs to be constructed etc etc) and try and go forth a little further up Mt Clutter.
Needs must and all.
Will see you all when I'm at the Summit, hopefully towards the end of the week.
Toodle-oo for now!

Lucy,
I miss you. Hope you and yours are well and happy. I need a blog fix, but will wait patiently, as I certainly understand priorities. Hope we hear from you soon.

Hi Lucy, your friends out here is the world miss you. I do wish maybe your husband could post and tell us what's going on. I realized having missed you for so many days that it's awful not being able to get news about you since I feel like you're my friend. Wishing you well from Corbett, Oregon - in the Columbia River Gorge.

Lucy, I can so remember feeling so slow and tired towards the end. Hope you are able to get everything done that you want to accomplish.

Hi Lucy, like the last couple of commenters, I feel a little worried for you and bump 24. I do so hope that you are festively busy and that everything is well with you and all your family. (Please don't feel pushed to blog though, especially if you are resting up!!)

How are you Lucy? I know you don't write on weekends for the moment but it has been awfully quiet from you and I'm the kind that worries. I do hope that you and the baby are resting with a blanket and not in any kind of distress. *hug*
(I hope I didn't make you feel like you "have" to blog a certain amount, I know how blogging can sometimes feel like a burden and I didn't mean anything like that.)

I'm new to crocheting, and just about everything I've made so far has been inspired by you. Thank you! And thank you for your COLORS. :-) I've decided that your blog is my rainy day prescription.

I've been linked here a few times, and I used your granny square joining technique for my giant Tetris afghan for my boyfriend's mother. And every single time I rediscover your blog, I spend hours browsing (usually through the crochet tag)!
Thank you for having this blog and sharing it with the world. You always bring some literal colour to my days! Thank you again.

Love your idea for an advent calender. I just had a thought that you might have been able to use the buttons to attach the number to the stars. Love your blog I'm always checking in to see whats new in the attic.

Lucy - your blog is one big scrummy visual feast. Inspired by you I have even decided to revisit crocheting - my last efforts being ponchos in the 70's.
It always warms my heart when I check-in to 'attic24' - thank you for all the gorgeousness

I've been away in remodel land for a while. Finally a day without the door bell ringing at 7am and the house full of workers. I've missed blogging and reading all my friends blogs.
Just wondering how you are doing. Been thinking about you amoungst all this craziness and wondered just how you did it and found all the time to post. Your pictures always bring such joy and color to my day.
Only about 8 degrees here today, boy do I miss my garden now.
So... just how much longer to the new little arrives.... or has the stork come....
Hope all is well with your family and you are enjoying this season.
Sending you a big chillie hug,
