About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I enjoy flowers in the warmer months, but don't really think about them during the cold winter months. I do better with flowers outside then in, so generally look out at the color in my yard rather than bringing flowers indoors.

You've got some beautiful one's though.

Happy New Years

How lovely to see all the blooms again. Well done for all you efforts and time giving to make such a super blog. I'm a fairly new recruit and am loving it. Could you please advise me of what kind of edging I can put around my hexagon throw as it looks rather unfinished as it is. Many thanks - Gwynneth

What a wonderful collage of lively color. Very welcome as we're having a grey and rainy day today here where I am.

So beautiful. Thank you for the review. I should do something similar with my flowers from John. He gives them often and I am spoiled indeed. ~Kelly

So Beautiful photos, thank you !!

You've just reminded me what my living room lacks at the moment. I must stop at the flower stall in the market tomorrow and buy some for the New Year. Thanks for the review.

I'm new to your blog and just want to say how much I love it!! I have been reading for a couple hours and can't get enough!! I am a crocheter, too but don't hold a candle to you :) I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog.

The freesias are my favorites. They smell great and the asymetrical growing pattern is a fun quirk.

Lots of greys outside today and then this explosion of bright, fresh, popping colours!!! Thank you Lucy, a visit to your blog a day keeps all doctors away...
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and all around you,
Adrienne from Holland

These flowers would make a lovely month-to-month calendar! Thanks for sharing such bright color with a COLD New Englander!

What a delight to find your blog! (via "Fibermania.blogspot.com") I just love your crochet work and those flowers were such a lift on the cold grey morning we're having here near Seattle, Washington USA. Love your fingerless mitts. I've been knitting those lovely things, but might have to whip out my crochet hook again to have a go at yours. Happy New Year!

That is just what I needed today, thank you. Everything is so cold and dreary here, this was just perfect.

Lucy your photographs are very Georgia O'keefe. Brightens up my day!

How lovely to revisit all of your displays! Especially on this cold wet day!

A shining light in my snowbound universe!

Thanks and thanks again.

Mmmmm, I do love the flowers . . . especially the way you tuck them into tiny containers here and there, instead of one big bouquet. Yes, yes, I'll be back tomorrow. I'm loving the reviews!

Lucy ~ your photographs are as beautiful and colourful as ever ~ Thank you for sharing them :O) xx

They are so beautiful - your photos are stunning - I want to print them off and put them all together in a frame! (Except that would be cheating) Thank you for providing such a beautiful bright spot in a grey day.

I feel as if I just walked through the loveliest flower shop! Thank you.

Seriously. Who DOESN'T love flowers!

How nice to re-visit all those bright, beautiful blooms. Too bad we can't smell all of their wonderful scents.

Thanks for sharing!

Sure ! I'll come back again tomorrow. All these colours are in harmony with you and your home and very beautiful with the grey time today here in France

Glorious colours - flowers are very uplifting. Beautifully put together - I hope you're enjoying putting this together as much as we are seeing it all. Thankyou!

Wow your flowers are beautiful, I love them. I studied horticulture/plants after school and after ten years I had to give it all up due to a back injury. But I agree with you flowers give us so much pleasure, I love having them in the house too. I am thoroughly enjoying your review too. Can't wait to see tomorrows review. Jane x

I notice that your flowers are all color-saturated, like your crochet-craft esthetic. No pale, shrinking violets for you. Which came first, the love of the flowers inspiring choices for your creations, or vice versa? Or does it matter really?....;)
Have a lovely day, or by now, for you I guess it's getting to be evening. Do you have "tea" in the aft/eve?
