Hello my lovelies, it's good to see you! Hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas time?
We certainly did, it was fun and happy and relaxed, just as I had hoped it would be. A little too dominated by the arrival of this for my liking but hey, I am only one quarter of the family and for the other three-quarters it's providing huge excitement and many happy hours of entertainment. So who am I to judge? Thank heavens for crochet is all I can say :: thank heavens I can sit with my family while they are in full-on Gaming Mode and immerse myself in my own little colourful hooky world. I am very adept at zoning out.
So Christmas is over for another year...don't know about you but I always breathe a little private, gentle sigh of relief once we come out the other side. I love the activity and festivity and full-on family time very much, but do somewhat find myself craving a bit of normality to return.
I was pottering around the house earlier, tidying up a little of the humongous mess that has been invading our living space since the 25th, thinking little reflective thoughts to myself, pondering the fact that we have only a few more days left of this year. Its been a good year for me this one, a happy year, and a creative one. There's much I'd like to say with regards to my little Bloglett and the way it's grown and evolved during 2009, but I'll leave that for another time I think....in the meantime, I thought I might spend the next few days here at Attic24 having a little look back over this year, a little Review if you like.
And where better to begin than with some crochet?? Yes, today's post is going to be full of hooky-goodness. Yaaayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So without further ado, let the Happy Hookyness begin...................

All very lovely items, I love your color choices. I'm very inspired by your crochet year in review, I hope you don't mind if I borrow the idea? Also, In that first picture there, you have a lovely crocheted bag, holding your yarn. Do you have a pattern for that? I've seen that bag in several of your pictures and thought to myself how much I'd love to make one.

I love your blog. I have only found it recently. I'm an avid knitter, but because of you, across the world in Savannah, Georgia(USA) I am crocheting a ripple afghan. Your excellent tutorials made it possible. I finally had to give in. You've got me! I also love to look at your local scenery. What can I say I love the whole blog. I have my daughter reading it also.

Lucy, you'll just have to crochet a gorgeous cover for the games console. I think there would be many of us who would like the pattern!

One of the things I like best is to see all your crochet snuggled up together, making friends. All different colours, patterns and textures but all in perfect harmony. Everything new that you make complements what you have already - and such a wide range too; from blankets and cushions to gloves and birdies. It must give you a great deal of pleasure looking at the results of all your hard work and creativity. It really is amazing how much one person can do! There are many things we do in life that we have nothing tangible to see for our efforts, I think it's amazing how for once the rewards can be right there in front of you. It's so inspiring Lucy to see that with less procrastination and more getting on with it, you can end up with so much lasting beauty, colour and texture and what's more the pleasure they will give you and your family for years to come is probably incalculable. Through your gorgeous pictures we also get to have an undeserved share in your hard work, which in the middle of a cold and grey winter is a most welcome and cheery sight. Amazing that you got so much done in one little year!

ooohhhh Lucy the pics are lovely and you are sooo clever. I particularlylove the Granny flower patch cushion. I just love your colour choices. If i did that it would look rubbish. You just seem to have a good eye for putting the colours together.

Hi Lucy!
I commented yesterday, but I can't see it, so I write again, just to say that I love your colourful crochet.
Christmas, last year, we bought a Nintendo Wii, and I so understand what you mean. Sometimes I regret that we bought it, but often I'm glad that we did. When the kids play, I mostly crochet or knit :-)
Looking forward to your flowers later today.
Love Anna xxx
