Hello my lovelies, it's good to see you! Hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas time?
We certainly did, it was fun and happy and relaxed, just as I had hoped it would be. A little too dominated by the arrival of this for my liking but hey, I am only one quarter of the family and for the other three-quarters it's providing huge excitement and many happy hours of entertainment. So who am I to judge? Thank heavens for crochet is all I can say :: thank heavens I can sit with my family while they are in full-on Gaming Mode and immerse myself in my own little colourful hooky world. I am very adept at zoning out.
So Christmas is over for another year...don't know about you but I always breathe a little private, gentle sigh of relief once we come out the other side. I love the activity and festivity and full-on family time very much, but do somewhat find myself craving a bit of normality to return.
I was pottering around the house earlier, tidying up a little of the humongous mess that has been invading our living space since the 25th, thinking little reflective thoughts to myself, pondering the fact that we have only a few more days left of this year. Its been a good year for me this one, a happy year, and a creative one. There's much I'd like to say with regards to my little Bloglett and the way it's grown and evolved during 2009, but I'll leave that for another time I think....in the meantime, I thought I might spend the next few days here at Attic24 having a little look back over this year, a little Review if you like.
And where better to begin than with some crochet?? Yes, today's post is going to be full of hooky-goodness. Yaaayyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So without further ado, let the Happy Hookyness begin...................

I came across your blog a couple of days ago and was astonished to see a pic of a baby in a lap and a mummy hooking away because as I saw that pic all the way over the seas in Australia I looked down and saw the same scene. Baby boy born early/mid-Jan and I've been feeding baby and hooking on the couch for five months now too! (I think I might have to start a granny stripe blanket just to keep the symmetry across the seas going). Love it, you've made my week!

Hey Lucy - just to say a 'Thank you' for a lovely site - events over the holiday time have been devastating and just trying to piece things all back together, so stumbling across this little ray of sunshine is really important for healing. I'm looking for a crochet flower jacket/waistcoat pattern to work on (any ideas ?) but in the meantime I'm going to start on chosing colours and practising some flowers.....so once again - Thanks Lucy !

I've only recently found your blog. The bright green triangle surprise you did earlier. The color was so vibrant and it was crochet! I've been hooked on your blog since. And you have inspired me to crochet. I have always had a hook and yarn close by, playing with it, but not making anything. I really wanted to make an afghan when my grand babies were born. I would buy yarn and think hard about it. Now we are expecting our 4th grand daughter in a few weeks, and with my MIL help, I have an afghan started! I'm working hard on it, to finish it before her shower in a couple of weeks. Might not make it by then, but definitely by the time she is born. I'm not so fast yet, but getting it done! I am thrilled! And it looks good! So I wanted to thank you for your almost daily temptation to pick up a hook and get going! I am looking forward to trying to figure out more of the things you have shown me. Love the flowers. And what did my MIL give me for christmas? A whole box of crochet snowflakes and angels for my christmas tree next year! They will be beautiful.
Just 'thankyou' for your encouragement.

Wow some fantastic work. Just starting out on crocheting. You dont have a simple pattern for a blanket do you - loving the ripple blanket. Is that easy to do?

You are such a crochet inspiration. I made a few little birds from your pattern for my ornament exchange with friends. Currently I'm using your walk though on hexagons to make a baby blanket. Thank you Thank you and Happy New Year!

dear Lucy
Happy new year to you and all your family
You inspired me to learn this wonderful craft and I like many others have to pop onto your site and get a lucy top-up of happiness (even at work!)
I do so want to make some buntings to place on my dresser but I am unable to see a tutorial from you. I would not know where to start.
Hope you can guide me to the correct page for this.
