About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I would love an R&R weekend! But exams are comming up quite quickly!

Still, I managed to get out to a Spa for a day, that did good!

What a lovely weekend you seemed to have!

Perfect weekend Lucy. Now I felt the pinnacle had already been reached by toast and hooking in bed. Then I saw the box of chocs and knew I could quite happily have whiled the rest of the day away munching through those too.

Enjoy half term.

Lovely weekend. I did take note of the ever-expanding Bump24 in the magazine pic. How exciting!!! My wkd was crazy busy, but in a good, energizing way (until 9 pm Sunday night when it all came crashing down onto my pillow!).

Great to read about your homely and very good weekend!
And it's always so good to see in pictures and read how much you enjoy, take care, spend time with yourself and your family!

Those sweet perfect little feet!

Everything you did or did not this weekend sounds good,. We all need these days...

I love the crocheted bag in the top pic...Is it the one on your side bar?

Sounds idyllic! Enjoy your half term

Lucy, I love your blog. I llok for a new post every day!!! I have been making some of the crochet and really enjoting it. Please ,please , please I will pay you for the directions for the little bird, It is the cutest thing ever and would make a great added extra to Christmas Gifts, I am limited this year as to how much I can spend so I am trying to make as much as possible and this is so adorable. Thanks forthe inspiration.

Sounds like a delightful weekend! I did much of the same. That is a really giant box of chocolates, they look very yummy!

Hi, Lucy

Wanted to let how very much I look forward to and enjoy your blog. I am a knitter and crocheter but am new to the blog world. Didn't even know it existed! How can that be you wonder ~ have I been living under a rock? No, just a busy mom with little free time. Your pictures are beautiful and your creativness inspiring. I looove all the color! Thank you for sharing a bit of your days with all of us!

A Thrifty Mrs

Sounds like a lovely weekend. I really need a few days like that after a far too hectic weekend.

Your R & R looks blissfully colourful and relaxing. Our weekend was rather more active but no less satisfying. Our whole village planted bulbs to bring some prettiness to February and March. I can't wait!

Hello. I never knew if the mug got to you in one piece. Glad to see it did. Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend. I do miss when the J's were young. Have a lovely weekend.

'Oooohhhh' I am loving your R&R weekend Lucy and am in much need of that myself...

...plus with that box of chocolates - perfection is made.

Have a lovely day and half term week,

take care,

Nina xxxxxxxxx

I'm really with you, Lucy, I love nothing more than days which are completely free with nothing planned, especially without the need to do the school run. No matter how many times I think I'll go to school then sneak into bed once I get back, I never do because I'm "awake" and aware of all the things to do. Love that picture of little lady's feet, children's feet are so cute!

Hi Lucy,
Glad you had a restful weekend. The weather here in Rossendale was pretty much the same as yours, so we did pretty much the same as you ha ha! I love love your bright and cheerful glass hanging, the rainbow & sunshine.

Weekends with no plans are indeed Good Things. We had half term last week and made no plans either. No coffees with friends, no shopping trips or outings planned. Just a teeny weeny haircut. We did go and see the new movie 'Up' though. You would LOVE it. The detail, the look of it is absolutely beautiful as is the sentiment. Enjoy half term as we did ours, little man and big man back to normal tomorrow though and after a week of being a DOMESTIC GODESS!! I am secretly looking forward to tomorrow morning xxxx

That type of weekend is my favourite kind!

The tiles on your fireplace are GORGEOUS!!!

I love autumn/winter weekends with nothing planned, just resting and 'enjoying' the grey weather from inside your cosy home. Enjoy the rest of the week.

R&R weekends are definitely the best! I seem to have spent quite a lot of time in the kitchen last weekend, but that's fine too! When the weather is rubbish, all these pleasurable activities are more than acceptable! I wish I had a half term too...!

Thanks for sharing all your lovely indoorsy pictures. It makes me want a nice indoorsy time too, but my little girl points out of the window to indicate where we should play the minute I get her out of her cot! Well it's good for me to get outside too. At least she gives me the perfect excuse to spend all my evenings at home being cosy instead of out socialising!

Lucy, your weekend looks brilliant. I agree that rainy, dreary days make it so much nicer to stay in. Loving the baby granny blanket, your new little one is going to be so happy snuggled up. Your new books look great, I bet it was really nice to catch up on some reading, crocheting, eating and drinking. You sound really relaxed, enjoy your break, can't wait to see what you get up to.

Sounds a delightful way to spend a weekend - hope the half term week is in similar vein! I love that Simply Country book you were reading - it is full of lovely ideas isn't it?

Take care

One of the things I look forward to most in winter months is doing much of nothing on the weekends except quality warm snuggly time with the Mr. and cooking warm comfort foods and crochet.. Sounds as if it was the most perfect weekend for you..
