About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Happy Belated Birthday Wishes! Here is hoping that 41 is as good (even better, actually) as mine was, and it was very good!

What a LOVELY day it looks you had. My son, who was an October baby too, loves banana bread. He'll be turning 21 and he'll get his bread and a surprise of these muffins as well, if I can figure out the American equivilants!

oooh a new recipe!!!

just one question - HOW do your buns always turn out so flat?...and i mean that as a compliment ;-) LOL really though, every time i make muffins/buns, they always end up like a peak!

will give these a try, thanks for sharing!

Yum yum! They look delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Your blog is not good for my waistline!! (Tiffin is my downfall!) Please would you share the pattern for your lovely circles scarf - I have some yarn all ready and waiting! Thanks.

Happy Birthday for the 12th Lucy and congratulations for being born in the best month of the year and a libran to boot. Sounds like you had a wonderful day too, there is nothing like a birthday is there. I just love your little buns, I may have to do something like that with Hugo today as he is feverish to make something... good to see these urges genetically represented. Have a delicious day. xxooxxoo

Fruitful Fusion

Brilliant! Can't wait to try them out!

mmm... I love chocolate chips in banana muffins. You are making me hungry!

What a coincidence, I've just come to the computer fresh from making banana buns! Mine however are sugar-free for the benefit of my baby. It's surprising how yummy they are, you wouldn't know they had no sugar added! I 'mature' bananas specially for this purpose! They will go in the freezer to be brought out one at a time when it's snack-o'clock. Not so much fun as making a batch and then eating them...

Hooked In Hove

Oh what an attention grabber that post title was! Must try those - they look fab. Luce - you are truly multi talented :-)

Yum! Perfect for a cold autumn afternoon!

Hi Lucy! Happy belated birthday...

I have a question! When you got your beautiful 16 skeins of baby cashmerino and decided on the granny square blanket, did you have in mind a size you would achieve with 16 skeins of yarn? Or do you just crochet and get whatever size you can from the 16 beautiful skeins. I'm new to crocheting and I love it. It is very addicting because of all the color changes and instant gratification. I just don't know how to estimate what size of item I will get from a certain number of skeins.

Thanks for your help and enlightment!!

ooh YUM, I make this as a loaf and a hot slice with some butter on is a real treat!!

I like your style Lucy.

Defintley pre taste and then double check 'before' you share the recipe!

Just the sort of chocolatey recipe that I'm looking for. It's Chocolate Party week for the Sick Child's Trust http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org/big_chocolate_teaparty1.php and I said I'd make some treats for work to try and raise a few pounds. Perfect timing!

(PS: I won our work cake making competition with the Tiffin cakes - I even got a trophy which really deserves to be yours!) x

OOO they look soooo good Lucy. Hope you got my ecard sorry it was a bit late.

mmmmmm! I made almost exactly the same recipe Sunday. Used frozen bananas (my sad ones are popped into the freezer till I can use them), and strayed from the recipe by dumping in cinammon and ginger. I made a loaf, but I like the idea of smaller cakes better.

mmmmm, yummy.

Can I come and have some with you? It's so much better to indulge in these little treats with friends!!

Yummy...looks so good..I don't have chocolate but I do have toffee bits, wonder how that would taste...

Sorry it's grey in your part of the world - we've had a lovely sunny day here in the West Country today. Still you have some lovely looking buns and I don't so there is justice in the world!

banana and chocolate always good combo.. I love baking banana & choc muffins for the kids.. they really like it..

your cake looks yummmm!

Mmmmmm. It's always good to have more recipes for using up sad old bananas (we alsways have an abundance - you'd think I'd just stop buying them). I made banana and pear buns yesterday for just the same reason!

Yum! Your last recipe (Tiffin) had me put on 3 lbs!

Hello Lucy, those cakes look so lovely, i used to make banana loaf cake .
You have inspired me to get my crochet hook out again and i have already made lots of granny sqares.
Hope you have a nice rest with your feet up.
If you have a moment take a look at my give away available at (blogspot) Paper Roses .... Autumn wreath with some of my Orange paper roses.

Oh Lucy! ~ How very yummy and definately one to try out very soon. I usually make banana and chocolate chip bread but buns sound very good too. Just right for a cup of tea and a feet up moment :O)

You trying to fatten me up even more? Your tiffin has already put pounds on me. Hmm, I just happen to have a sad looking banana as well ..........
