About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

What a lovely day it look like you had. Bet it soooooo nice for things to get back to some normalicy after a heck-tic summer.

Morning filled with friends, coffee, hooking, thrifting and snapping a few pictures are right up my alley.

Great finds on the hot pick sweaters for your pillow backs. They are absolutely perfect. Keep us posted as they move along.

Thanks again for taking the time to still share you life with us.

Hugs, TGB xoxoxoxo

Oh I love all the happy colors!

they are like a wonderful bowl of fresh fruit, just ready to be picked! I have to have that ripple bag.....do I dare TRY to make one for myself? hmmmmmmm

have been looking at jumpers in charity shops to make up a couple of cushins that are nearly finished but wasn't sure how to go about it so didn't bother a tutorial would be fab:)

Lucy, you're just purely joyful to read, I enjoy every word from you and you lift me up when I feel low. Sometimes it's nice to know you do that for someone else. I love your pillows and the jumper backing and look forward to that tutorial. I live in several places, namely two homes in the US one in the mountains of North Carolina, and one near the beach as well as one in Dubai, sometimes in Dubai I cannot get your blog, but I continue to try and in Dubai I cannot get Flickr, so try to look up as much as possible while I'm here. I'm returning there shortly and so hope I can keep track of you and your Attic 24 adventures.

WOW! What lovely buttons! I wonder, would you trade some blue and white ones for some lovely Norwegian Baby Wool?

I'll send you a mail about it :-)

Greetings from chilly Pennsylvania...Dear sweet Lucy...the sweater color is just perfect for your pillows. You were lucky to find such a good match. Can't wait to see the finished pillows...the tops are so lovely and colorful...Emily V.

Learning to crochet is moving up my wishlist fast! I keep recommending your tutorials to people, so I must follow my own advice - I found myself fingering a children's learn to crochet book in the yarn shop today (or is it yearn shop?!).

Pomona x

Love the little pile of happy bags. I so wish I had a knit and natter near me. I could so do with something like that. Feeling very cooped up at home at the mo. Glad you had a lovely time. The wooly jumper is a yummy colour. Looking forward to how it looks made up into lovely cushions.

How lovely, will look forward to the tutorial, you explain things so clearly - you should save them all up for yourself and then write a lovely book.
I would love an Attic 24 book.

fabulous! & that jumper does go so very well... sometimes the simplest things are the most joy-inspiring aren't they :o) Thank you for once again sharing your colourful world & spreading the happiness around x

I have been computerless for a couple of weeks so am now catching up with you wonderful news - congrats on the pending arrival - how exciting this is for you and your family. I can just imagine all the baby goodies you will be crocheting in the coming months!

Love the colour of the jumper Lucy. Very autumnal x

Love the bags, and the jumper is the perfect shade for the cushion covers. I was wondering if there is an e-mail address that I could contact you at. I would appreciate it. thanks.

Lovely jumper find. I've been pondering a cushion for a while so a backing tutorial would be fab. I've said it many times already but I do really love your tutorials. I always find them so straight forward (a refreshing change from the majority of crochet patterns which make my mind boggle!).

Glad you've got your knit and natter's back in your week too. Sounds like a fab way to spend some time.

Lucy ~ lovely and clourful pictures as usual ~ I love the photo of your shopping bags sitting in your hallway, they look very Happy Bags indeed and very You! Love your cushion covers too and the idea of using a woolly jumper for the backing. I've nearly finished my colourful crochet cushion cover but have decided to just join the two crocheted sides together ~ you can get a sneaky preview on my blog if you have the time to have a little peek!
