About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Lucy,
You have totally inspired me (as well as my other knitter/crohet friends) with all your beautiful croheted pieces...as well as just your blog and beautiful photos.

I mentioned your blog today to a gal as we were in our local yrn shop blabbing, and then we were both on our iphones looking intently at your blog.(about 3 inches away from the screen) We both came to the conclusion that what makes your work stand out from the crowd is not only your craftsmanship, but your wonderful sense of color combinations!

Thank you for the inspiration!

Thank you for providing colorful inspiration!
I have recently started a Big Blanket project, and I am so excited about it.

I hope you don't mind that I've made that picture my desktop! I've just dipped my toe into crochet and I find the colours so inspiring - for some reason, knitting seems more practical and everyday to me, while crochet lets me be fun and free... and still practical and everyday, but with colour! I just found your blog and am finding it very inspiring indeed!

I have a funny story. I make baby afghans for new babies in the family and am used to using rainbows of pastel colors and I do a crochet on diagonal pattern. Guess what color my nephew's wife wanted? WHITE! All white! I'm having a real challenge doing this one. I will try to show a picture of it when I'm done. I'm going to use your lacy edging design. I love visiting your attic24 blog often - you inspire me.

Stunning! Thank you. I was away from my computer and internet access for most of the week and have just sat down now (at 11.22pm Saturday night) to catch up on my week's worth of lovely attic24 colourful goodness. With peppermint tea in hand, your post has brightened and cheered!

I was a nice little knitter until I discovered your blog. Now I'm hooking again. My sister is a crocheter and between the 2 of you, I have no time to do anything anymore because I'm hooking.

Lucy, you and your creations truly are inspirations! I have yet to actually try my hand at crocheting (beyond maybe 50 stitches), but I will, I will, I will!! Seeing all your wonderful blankets and pillows and bags and scarves and flowers and other lovelies just makes me want to even more! Thank you for such lovely, colorful inspiring pictures and posts. And continuing best wishes on you and your belly and the rest of the family.

have a wonderful day!!

This very morning, I told my husband about how many people I've seen on Ravelry who use your patterns to create lovely things. It must be such an amazing feeling looking through the photos in Flickr, and of course the newly created group dedicated to you, and see how you've touched other people's lives. How amazing is that!? Can you imagine how many people wake up in the morning and grab a Lucy bag, or go to sleep under a Lucy blanky. And I think the best part of it all is that you are able to inspire people by just being YOU!

giusy

Wow Lucy, your hooky stuff is gorgeous!! I'm so glad to have found your blog and flickr!! thank you also for the group links, I've joined them all :)

paula

I like flickr so much. Now I'm a bit stopped because my computer is not fixed (yet!) and if it was not enough, I, who have a pro account on Flickr, I'm reduced to the free one because is always my husband who dows the work of paying it and he's out on work. Result: I can't add my pictures to the big lot of groups I like to add, plus the fact that I can't post because I can't take pictures from my computer.
Well, doesn't matter.
Your pictures are lovely as always, like the work you have done.
Everything is nice here.
