About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Hi Luce,
Yes, hoorah for today and back to school though my day so far has involved boring stuff like washing and food shopping. Hope you feel better soon, enjoy the rest.
There were some new things in Girls' Own Store on Saturday, particularly some new rather divine Greengate goodies with a paisley pattern on them, tins, jugs, bowls, teatowels. I resisted but did buy a lovely book in there, which features, Sara, the shop owner's cottage. More of that soon! Looking forward to the big announcement.

Greetings from warm and sunny northeastern Pennsylvania...Dear sweet Lucy...today is Labor Day here in the USA...a holiday for workers, although all the stores are having Labor Day sales, which means a lot of people ARE working. Commerce can't rest! For us, it is the official end of summer...my grandmother always said not to wear white after Labor Day. Schools are already open, Fall is in the air, and the stores are full of Halloween decorations. I don't like to rush the seasons, even though Fall is my favorite. Here in PA it an absolutely gorgeous time...Nature goes all out, painting the trees brilliant colors of red and orange and yellow. If you visit the States be sure to come to the East coast in the Fall...incredible beauty.
Sorry you are not feeling well...please rest and take very good care of yourself!! Emily V.

When my three were little we had a wonderful toy shop in the Docks in Gloucester - they sold traditional old style marbles and lots of other fancy ones too in all different sizes. We would add to the collection each time we visited the shop. The kids played with them a little bit but not as much as I thought they might. The marbles then spent several years in a drawstring bag hooked over one of the children's bunk bed posts until I decided that really I had probably bought them for myself and so claimed them putting them out on display in a square glass vase on my hearth. Like you I love their colours and enjoy them anew

It's a hilarious video about going back to school.

These were just the pictures I needed this morning!! The cozy lemons and honey, showy sunflowers, sparkly burst of color in the suncatcher. Mmmmm! This is why I come here. I'm ready to start my day.
