About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

What a visual treat;) Thanks;)

So, of course, you have inspired me to pick up the crochet hook again - the first time since I was 8 years old and stuck my crochet hook into the electric radiator and got an electric shock.
This time I have tried to stay away from the heater and all is going well, but I wanted to ask you a question about blocking - the book I am using tells me to steam or spray mist the squares.
Is that something you do or do you just stitch 'em all together?

oh yeah - and if you haven't heard of Jennifer Pudney - i thought her stuff might be something you would like

Hi Lucy,
I have so enjoyed following your blog but have never posted a comment. You have inspired me to start my own blog where I share all about my art and what is happening with it. Thanks to you it has given me a great outlet. I would love for you to see it. You can find me at www.aserenescene.blogspot.com. Thanks for all of your colorful, eye catching photos. They bring me great joy.
Take Care,
Meagan S.

Loving, loving, loving big blankie! Oh I could so do with snuggling under that right now! Lucy, thank you so much for the comment you left on my blog, it really made my day :) x

Hi Lucy,
I really love your beautiful blog, it makes me happy to see all those wonderful pictures and colors!
I also want to thank you for the Hexagon how-to. You've written it out very clearly, I was happy to learn something new and now I can't stop making hexagons!
Greetings from Belgium!

Oh my gosh Lucy, I understand why you are in love with your new blanket to be. The colours look so spicy!

I understand that type of love...

I have been following your blog for a while and this time I just have to say it! I LOVE it too. I just need to ask which yarn you are using?

I´m your BIG fan!
I love your lifestyle, your point of view about the life, colours, nature... I´m falling in love! hahhahaha...
I´m married too, no children and I´m from Brazil!
My English is not very good, but it´s enough to say to you that I really admire you!
You are a colorful girl, Lucy! \o/

Don't be jealous but... I think I'm in love with Big Blankie ;-)

i have to say at first i thought you were mad for taking out all that white, as i quite liked it! but wow, this is looking great - you so proved me wrong!

Enjoy your snuggly, Big Blanketyness. I'm just jealous I can't stay home and do my wonky blanket which has been sadly neglected these past 2 weeks :(

I love how you put colors together.

I think I'm in love with it too!

just got a tax rebate that equals roughly 18 balls of yarn ... think I know what I'm going to be making.

seriously it's just so lush - I loved it when it was all purple-y and now it just zings with the bright colours and I love it even more. *wants*

Big Blankie is nice, but my heart belongs to Ripple. He lies quietly behind Big Blankie offering support. If he was a man, I'd ask you to set us up!

It's looking lovely Lucy I can see why you can't stop! I've run out of a colour I am using for my blanket and it is proving very frustrating as the shop STILL haven't got it in. I've looked up ordering it myself but have to buy a minimum of 10 balls which I don't need, plus they are more expensive than the shop sells them for.

Big Blankie is quite a "hunk!" hehe

Yes, yes, yes, looking so beautiful! So nice too, to hear you sounding cheerful and peppy, while being with your newfound love...
some one-on-one time, just you and your blankie is what you deserve :-)

It's looking really nice. You do such beautiful work. I know you did the right thing by removing the white.

You are so talented! I love your use of color (colour :)- everything is so cheerful!

who could not fall in LOVE its adorable everybody should have one!

Moe (Seaweed, Roses & Wool) x

Hey Lucy, It's Great to see you back to your usual Happy self! That blanket is the best yet! You were so right to frog the white!
Long may Happiness Reign!
