The Little People were at home with me to day as the school was closed for teacher training. We had nothing planned, just a day of being home together. But oh, how I did appreicate it!
I've not used my camera that much in recent weeks, but felt like keeping it close by me today to capture a little of lifes Ordinariness. Often, its so easy to let these Little Snippets of daily life slip by unnoticed, to become preoccupied with problems, issues and Big Snippets. Yet to really observe and appreciate the little details can bring such a lot of happiness and gratitude. I remain very grateful for such easy Ordinariness in my day to day home life, no matter what big, rollercoastery stuff is happening in the background.
It was so good to be reminded of that today.

Hi Lucy,
I,m from Australia recently retired and only discovered your site last week. You are such a talented lady. Love your work particularly your yarn bag and ripple blanket and flowers. Really I love it all, whilst I knit better than crochet I can't wait to try out your patterns. Envy you at the moment with your summer and be able to have such a lovely day with your children.

BB is looking lovely :) So you are pinning to your attic floor? Or you have something underneath. I am sooo close to finished my babette, and think that once it's put together I might want to do one more block just to make it look just "so".. but not sure what big enough space I have to do it in.
Do you have any washing tips for all these crochet materpieces?? :)
Have a good weekend :)

Yes, we must appreciate every moment of our little ones growing up, especially the normalness of their lives.
It's only when I see photos like yours of the view from your attic window in the evening makes me realise how early it gets dark here..8 to 8.30ish, funny,eh!

What a lovely day Lucy thank you for sharing it with us. You always help to remind me to notice and enjoy the little things which make up each day and to keep in the sunshine. Your view from the attic is wonderful; I am almost there with you having a coffee and crocheting away. Karenx

That's exactly the reason why I started to blog. The love and beauty and colour and happiness that can come from an ordinary day with your family. A record to make us stop and be in the moment and appreciate the everyday.

It sounds like you had a perfect day of ordinariness ~ your photographs are lovely ~ Thanks for sharing them with us, it is so easy to forget that day to day life is what it's all about :O)

My favorite was Cinderella crashing into the boy world and whirling about in her frilly dress not caring one sniggly bit that she's totally inappropriately dressed for a sword clashing dragon slaying boy's world. ahhh female confidence ; ) Kate~

Your ordinary bits charm me, because they are so different from mine. Yet, your post has made me try to re-evaluate my own every day, and find its own charms.
Thank You! Have a lovely weekend.

How lovely. I'm very envious of the view from your attic window. When you live in a big city you long for a view of green pastures and rolling hills.
