Just to quickly let you know that I've finished the tutorial for crocheting Granny Squares together....it's in the usual place over in the left sidebar as a page, or you can click here to find it.
I hope it makes sense and I hope you can follow it successfully, its one of those things that seems very simple when one is doing it, but is unexpectedly tricky to explain!
If you experience any wobbles getting your Grannies to go together without fuss (and they really should oblige, shouldn't they?), please do let me know by leaving a comment and I will do my best to help out.
Happy weekend everyone, have fun :o)

Dear Lucy,
I love your colourful and inspiring blog. I love the colours of your summer garden blocks. I love the colourful randomness of your hex blanket, which I am trying to make. Huge problem - I've discovered I can't do random! I have pulled it apart 3 times now. Please help me?? How do I make hexagons in random colours? I'm just about ready to give up and try a ripple instead :(

I'm a Knitter not a Crochet-er but your work looks lovely! I shall fish out the one crochet hook I have and give it a go! Thankyou for your great blog - what a beautiful part of the country you live in.

Dear Lucy
I really must follow your example and learn to crochet. Although I only recently discovered it, I adore your blog! I therefore couldn't resist mentioning you on my blog and including a link to yours. If this does not meet with your approval, let me know and I will amend it right away.
Thankyou so much for your bloggy generosity, for being so inspiring and what I call 'A ray of Sunshine'
much love

You are so talented and generous with your work and your colours are second to none! You have a special eye.
It was lovely to catch a glimpse of the hex blanket in the last post - that's the piece of work that introduced me to your blog and it's still just breath-taking - even after a good bouncing! t.xx

Hi Lucy,
thanks for your lovely comment about my necklace....I am feeling quietly proud!!
Yes I'm in Bridport too....just around the corner from Colette...about 2 minutes walk!!
I haven't been crocheting long....did a google search for crochet flowers and found your tutorial....it was the only one that made any sense to me as it had lots of pictures for me to follow!
Thank you!
And of course now I'm addicted.....luckily Colette has a wool shop in her shed...great!

Here's some more granny squares for you, Lucy - http://www.elspeththompson.co.uk/eco_house.html- like you I adore them but have not (SO FAR) managed to make any blankets myself. I expect your eagle eyes have spotted a few others lying around my house....
Have a gorgeous weekend Lucy.
So glad you are feeling 'up' again..
Love and best wishes

Thanks for the tutorial Lucy, very clear. Can I ask if you have a plan for the colour combinations before you start or do you just go with your heart?

Thanks for the tutorial Lucy. It will come in very handy once I've finished my granny squares. Thanks to your wonderful instructions I made a practice square last night and couldn't believe how easy you've made it. I'm now all 'wooled up' are ready for the off. I'm starting small on a cushion but not bad for someone who up until 3 weeks agao had never crocheted a thing!! THANK YOU :)

Hi, Lucy! I found your blog looking for crochet designs for my Mom and SIL... they love it... I do to, but know nothing about crochet... now I'm beginning to think I should learn at least a bit and start doing something beautiful as you do... Mom would love to know how you make those "ric-racs"... she remembers my grandmother making that pattern... can you tell us how to do it? :)

You are the best! I love your blog and this is the best tutorial ever! I have not yet made granny squares but it is so on my list! I am currently working on a hexagon blanket, but I feel a break may be in order.
