If the colour of my recent weekend was Grey, then the colour of this week has to be White. In my little part of the world this week we have been inundated with fallings of the snowy white stuff, and it has been in turns exciting, frustrating, beautiful, inconvenient and glorious. I have been sitting in the Attic24 window seat this morning, doing some quiet hand stitching and looking out across the snowy white rooftops. Its been very lovely to do just that, to observe the snow through the window whilst remaining warm and cosy inside. J has been working from home the past two days as the roads have simply been too dangerous to drive far, and after initial misgivings of having my Attic invaded, it's been quite companionable having him around, stopping for lunch together, fetching up mugs of hot coffee and chocolate to keep us going.
Anyhow, I am a little pushed for time today, so if it's all right with you, I thought I could curb my usual wordiness and show you some pictures instead. Some simple photos of my local surroundings taken over the last day or two. Lots of snowy white stuff. Hope you enjoy........
Just before I go, can I remind you briefly that tomorrow I'll be drawing a name for the Housey Giveaway. So if you haven't already put your name into the hat for the draw, you are welcome to hop-skip to this post and add your comment ready for tomorrow. I'm hoping to do the draw sometime in the morning right after I've baked some buns.
I've got quite a lot to talk to you about, it's been a great
week for me in so many ways and I do really like to chat to you about
things as they happen in my little whirly-gig world. So until then, I
am simply going to say ((thank you)) for continuing to stop by,
for your generous words, and for making me feel so..so..hmm can't quite
think of the word I want, but it's something to do with the way you make me feel like squeeling and jumping up and down with pure excitement all the time.
See you tomrrow wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (maybe thats the word I was looking for?!)

Your last photo reminds me so much of the last part of Lucy and Tom's Christmas by Shirley Hughes---where Tom gets over excited and cross and has to go for a walk with Grandad. That has been of my children's favorite books since we first bought in the early 90's on a sabbatical trip to England--Winchester, I think, that time.

Hello from New York.
That first photo through your window just grabbed me! I often look through one of my windows, too, and see a bit of sky, and some layers of architectural history. But I can never see what you see, and think, lucky you!
All of the following snow scenes were also grand, but it is that first one that got me! I do love visiting this site.

Lucy??? I love the snow pictures, we never get snow in Florida but it is sort of cold here this year(at least for us). I love your work and have made several of the crocheted flowers and leaves for a felted purse I am making. I saw the picture of the Scarf you made with the flowers and was wondering if you have a pattern for that or is it just larger flowers without the center petals? I want to make one for a friend for Christmas. If there is a pattern please let me know. Thanks, BeBe.(I assume that you have my email, I don't really know how blogs work yet)

you take the most beautiful photo's - I found these ones really soothing & sweet. Also loved the banner, I'm really into your little houses design, it's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing some snow - it's supposed to be summer here in Australia but it's just windy & boringly cold today. x

By the way,
Hello Ladies,
This is your fellow-blogger-ess Jo writing to you. You may have noticed my comments on some blogs.
Well, my husband and I live in Germany and we want to spend a three week holiday in Great Britain next May. We will have a car.
If you know of any nice places to go and see or stay at please do share your ideas with us. We are a bit stuck for where to start looking at the moment.
Thank you all so much!

Hi Lucy, i too have been invaded with working from home......have had a nice day too, made a lovely cushion with the plain linen I got at the fabric shop with you and added a vintage linen square in the middle, trimmed with deep red velvet ribbon and a mother of pearl button....I am quite pleased with it....sitting proudly on my chair. Your attic 24 banner looks great...can't wait to see your shop...any peeks at what you are going to sell...intrigued...will try and get over to see you for a coffee before xmas, weather permitting of course, speaking of which..we have had snow and it is v cold outside...but do you know what the log burner has been on all day, even with the heating off we are as warm as toast....so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Happy sewing,
sarah x
