About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

What fabulous photos. It is always such a delight to visit your blog. I know that photos have much to do with the photographer's eye and also the subjuect matter. With that being said, please, tell me what type of camera you use. I would so appreciate it, as I am struggling with my photos.

what a fabulously inspiring book-may treat myself to a second hand copy from Amazon!x

I have been reading your blog for a while now and i have to say i love it, to me it's on par with Jane's at Posy. Like you i love looking at interior design books, have to get several "House" magazines a month and go through them over asnd over - just in case i have missed something, country style home i adore and the seaside ones as well. I guess we need these pictures to inspire us and lift our spirits! Marisa

Hi Lucy,

It's Claire from MSN, just have to say I absolutely adore reading this blog. It is so well written and just completely adorable, It is my nightly treat now ( a cup of tea and Lucy's blog) and I have oaty stars and strawberry ice cream on my "to do" list this weekend.

I didn't realize that Britain had the Border's book store? Are they nationwide?

Gill from Canada

lovely looking book, I think I will pop over to Amazon now to check it out - Natalie x

I absolutely love interior books and home magazines too! The one you have posted about looks gorgeous, I thought I like the second pic the best then I saw the third and the fourth. Do you know that in the USA they have house tours, where people open up their homes for you to nosy round, how fab is that!! Thanks for the lovely mention by the way........Claire xx

The chairs are Cath Kidston sale ones from last year (or maybe even the year before) so I don't think you can get them any longer - have a look on ebay, you might get lucky!

Oh dear! Another book hits the spot! It looks wonderful - I've not seen it before.

(And I do that in Borders...)

Mmmmm - just my kind of interiors. Delicious. My wish list has expanded (yet again).

Let me tell you, not only do I have that book but I have actually been in one of the houses in it, the home of Vanessa Arbuthnott the fabric designer. I went on a course there and it is probably the most gorgeous house I've ever been in, I must do a post about it sometime.
Lovely pics as usual, I'm a visual person too, sometimes I paw over a picture for ages drinking it all in.

I have to have it!

I love books like that - just to sit and pour over, and over again!

The sweet peas look delicious! mine have not grown over about 10" tall! and I don't think they will ever flower...it must be a lancashire thing...

I too have been popping in and out of Oxfam to get a Festival Blanket for camping - no joy for me yet! Thanks for the colourful blog Lucy!

I think I must have missed that book. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Waterstones. By the way, can you remember blogging your Oxfam blankets? I've been popping in and out of our local Oxfam ever since and hurrah I found some last week. Maybe I feel a blogging session coming on.

I would love to get my hands on this book! Field and hedgerow and kitchen garden are my favourites or maybe I am just seduced by the names! I too am a a very visual person. Even when the house is a tip I still like to keep one shelf clean and beautifully arranged with 'stuff'!
