Morning all. I was tagged last week by the lovely Claire and as I am notoriously, ridiculously forgetful, thought I'd better get on and de-tag myself whilst I still remember. But first I have to show you the most beautiful bunch of flowers I bought from the market on Friday. They're sweet williams, and I just love them. They are always around at this time of year and are so cheap to buy (this bunch cost me £1.50), they always make me smile when I see them first appear on the market because then I know summer is almost here.
So, it's T-a-G time. I have seen this going around and around Blogworld this past week and had been pondering the questions before I was officially tagged :: they seem to me to be an odd bunch of questions to string together, but I like the quirkiness and randomness of it, it suits my quirky random brain!
What was I doing 10 years ago?
- Ten years ago was pre-Little People, which is very very hard to recall. J and I had been very happily together for 4.5yrs at this point, and were looking for a place to settle ourselves. We were living near London but not exactly happy there, so J applied for a job in York (North Yorkshire) and in May 1998 we moved up into a furnished, rented house with all our possessions in the back of a small hire van. We didn't own furniture then, just clothes and stuff. I was just about to start up my own textile/craft business and was busy learning book keeping, marketing etc and writing a business plan to apply for grants. We didn't have much money but were very happy. Our garden backed onto fields and we had pheasants and hedgehogs stroll in to visit. We used to play the music very loud and lay in the garden on our backs looking at the stars.
Five things on my to-do list
Honestly people, there are probably at least 65 things on my to-do list, so selecting just five has been a bit of a challenge. But this week, I hope to tackle the following ::
- 1. Plant. Must pot up all my little plantlets into nice big terracotta pots in the yard. Little Plantlets are struggling to grow in tiny plastic cells and desperately need my attention. My geraniums below are beginning to flower, the colour is glorious.
- 2. Buns. Aim to eat one a day for good health. Assists with the other 64 things on to-do list.
- 3. Clean. Must really get some housework done as it has been absent for some time now and the dust is even beginning to bother me when usually I don't notice. Do you like my new dustpan and brush? Yes, I thought you would, you have good taste.
- 4. File. That dining room mess is still there, albeit contained in several boxes. I bought these nice files to sort out all my household papers, but its still a daunting task even with the help of pretty polka dots.
- 5. Hang. This is the pile of pictures gathering dust 6 months after we moved in. I bought some picture hooks about 3 months ago but have not yet got round to the job of positioning and hanging.
Five snacks I enjoy
- marmite on toast
- homemade buns (it's on my to-do list remember)
- bombay mix
- raw veggies
- fruit of any description, I am a fruit-bat
- Buy the eleven books on my Amazon wishlist
- Buy a new pair of flip flops
- Buy one or two bits from Greengate
- Tell J to stop working cos I know the commute sucks even though he says not
- Give the rest away. Honestly, I don't think having money would suit me, I would fret over it too much.
- London
- Dorset
- Manchester
- Berkshire
- Yorkshire
Pheww. This has taken an extraordinarily huge amount of brain power and time! I am too shattered to do any thing on my to-do list now, other than eat a bun and look at my Amazon wish list and dream.
xx
ps. I hope it's ok, I have decided to let the t-a-GG-i-n-g rest with me as I know so many of you have already done it, but if you haven't yet got your noodle round these questions and fancy a go then please do and let me know so I can come and read your answers.
