So, back to the beginning from your 50th birthday post via your sewn seaside scenes that I love and, I've just realised, your Attic 24 header is your sewn work too. I've been following your blog for a couple of years but that birthday post has really set me off exploring and I've come to see when it all began. Lucy, long may it continue!

Hi Lucy!

I have been following your blog pretty regularly for the last couple of years and you have greatly inspired me! My daughter absolutely loves her ripple blanket, my very first crochet project!(oh, and it WAS found :) )

I have just started a blog of my own and have also decided, like many others, to start reading yours from "the beginning"....

Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration to many!

Hi Lucy - Wow!!! Today someone pointed me in the direction of your blog and I have spent the WHOLE day (I should've been working, oops) looking at your photos. You have an amazing talent and are very inspirational.
I've been crocheting for years but I'm lazy and tend to stick to other people's designs. I need to start doing my own things and finding inspiration from the world around me - just like you do.
Thank you very much. Now I have the task of actually reading your blog too!
Awesome x

Hi Lucy I have only recently discovered your blog and I think its wonderful! The joy you take in the simple things in life is so refreshing especially in these mad consumer driven times. Its really lovely to read and alot of your values, hobbies and interests are the same as my own. Keep up the good work , I look forward to reading it!
Thanks Tracy

Anna

It was a nice beginning! Happy for you, because you should have used your talent of a writer, a creative person and a mother!:)

Hi Lucy. I'm so happy to find your blog. I'm very late to the world of blogging but have loved reading about your world in northern England! I live in Tennesse and we have a rich heretage of needlework of all kinds here in the Appalachian mountains. Both of my grandmothers were avid crocheters and quiltmakers and I am blessed to have their blankets to remember them by. I must say I'm an Anglophile and love everything Brittish. My family name is Sterling and I just visited Sterling Castle this past summer. JOY! Your writting is just what I imagine everyday life would be there and you have a wonderful way of painting a picture of your life with words and photographs. Thank you for letting us see your everyday beauty.I'm considering entering my own blog and have learned so much about how to give the right amount of info. Thank you so much! (ps, I just started my own octogon blanket in bright colors and am loving it!) :-)

Lucy! I am so very glad you decided to write a blog!! I have gotten great inspiration from this page, and you are such a color lover! After seeing how much you appreciate color, I have started to also. I don't think that when you posted this very post, you ever thought you'd come THIS far. As far as you are today! Thank you so much.

Lucy, I found your blog about a week ago and have been reading through each post from the beginning. You have inspired me in so many ways and I'm forever greatful to you for it all! I'm so enjoying your lovely blog and your wonderful writing "voice" and amazing pictures. My favourite part by far is how you incorporate colour into your everyday life, whether it be from crochet, flowers, magazine pictures or photos of your family - the way you savour everyday life has made me begin to do so too! Thank you for such a wonderful place I can come and visit whenever I need a little happiness in my day. I look forward to reading through the rest of your blog :)

May God richly bless you!
Raili

P.S. I'm currently working on my first Granny Stripe Blanket and am so excited to make more of your great patterns in the future!

I found you a few months ago and have fallen in love with your blog.
Today I decided to begin reading from the very beginning.
I am so looking forward to this journey (resisting the temptation to read it all quickly and enjoying just a few posts each day).

Dear Lucy I have back tracked through you blog to see when you first started and am really impressed. In the old days before blog land this would have been a handwritten diary. Please keep blogging!

I have traveled through your blog from today back to it's beginning here.
You have a wonderful way with words, that just keeps me wanting to come here every day to visit.
Your crochet work is just so beautifull, that I never tire looking at it all. The colors are dazzling.
Yes, you have a wonderful blog , that's for sure!

Hi... i 'bumped into' you blog a couple of days ago... i'm a patchworker...so crocheting???... oh but then i discovered more than just your crocheting; and i kept going through page after page after page.

how to describe what it was that kept me turning pages.... and here - finally at your last (actually first) page... i have the answer ...in your comments by "alice c".

"you have a special writing voice"

Dear Lucy,
I am so glad that you decided to start writing. I think that you have a special writing voice that is ideally suited to a blog. You decribe the happiness of your family life without sounding too perfect or prescriptive and it is a pleasure to read. I really hope that you continue to enjoy creating your own unique contribution to Blogland so that we can join you for tea in the Attic.

Clairey

Luce, I'm so glad you're blogging too. I've added you on my list of blogs!

Will have a good read of yours now.

Clairey xxx
