The Beginning

For a while now I have thought about beginning my own blog. I think I might've been a little late to arrive at the Blog Party having only stumbled across them in the summer of 2007. Up until then I had no idea this amazing community existed, had no idea that there might be other creative, domesticated so-and-so's out there who get excited about crochet, stitching, baking, flowers, corners of rooms. The little pleasures in every day life. The joys of creating and homemaking. So I have been hovering on the sidelines, marveling at the talent out there, wondering if I might be able to put myself alongside the other inspirational folks I've discovered. I have tentatively been learning to take photographs, small snapshots of my creative and domestic life and sharing them on Flickr. And now I am going to share even more with you. My creative projects. The making of my house into a home. My Home Sweet Home.
Its going to be a fun journey.

Hi Lucy - Wow!!! Today someone pointed me in the direction of your blog and I have spent the WHOLE day (I should've been working, oops) looking at your photos. You have an amazing talent and are very inspirational.

Hi Lucy. I'm so happy to find your blog. I'm very late to the world of blogging but have loved reading about your world in northern England! I live in Tennesse and we have a rich heretage of needlework of all kinds here in the Appalachian mountains. Both of my grandmothers were avid crocheters and quiltmakers and I am blessed to have their blankets to remember them by. I must say I'm an Anglophile and love everything Brittish.
