About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

When you say, Woodland CAL, what does the CAL stand for?
I've had a good look through for the answer but haven't managed to find it.

Absolutely love your posts--this blanket is fabulous!

Thank you

Anne Hartland

Hi Lucy, will we be using pistachio in the first couple of weeks please? My LYS was out of that colour until their next delivery mid Jan. I was lucky to get tomato, they only had 2 left and apparently Stylecraft are out of stock. Love the colours and looking forward to the cal.
Best wishes from Anne

Ordered the yarn. Can not wait

I've never participated in a CAL, but i love the colors and the pattern used in this blanket. I ordered two of the yarn packs because I decided I wanted to make it larger. Now I am patiently waiting for my yarn to arrive and time to pass so I can do the CAL with you.

Hello Lucy,
this cal looks spectacular. I am very new to crochet, would I be able to attempt this project as a newbie? I appreciate your time in replying to my post and if you give the green light I can hop over to wool warehouse to buy my very own pack of stunning yarn colours.... thank you in anticipation.

Lucy, I just love your blog, your photo's and your love of colour, every post makes me smile. I wish I could visualise the way you do. I love to crochet and have only been doing so for about 3 years. I have gotten into sewing quite a lot lately but reading this post has made me want to pick up my hook again...will be ordering the yarn pack for the CAL as I just adore the colours you have chosen :) thank you for being such an inspiration xxx

My wool arrived! Two packs! Boy and husband both excited too. Wool all admired and felt, and rubbed along cheeks to check softness. Just want to get started now!

Yippee my woodland blanket yarn pack arrived today...and appropriately the snow is falling.
Boohoo , got to wait..
Love your colour selection, all the colours mix beautifully. You tell the story of finding your inspiration and creating the items wonderfully. You have been my favourite tea and biscuit companion.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Baby No 2 is due in March, but hoping to rustle up this as a double blanket for our cosy cottage in the woods - cosines for feeding and snoozes! Thank you for all your hard work.

Thus looks like so much fun! Loving your colour journey. Would it be ok if someone from Canada joined this CAL?

Laine reçue ...Magnifique palette de couleur, reste à faire le panier avec les restes de la moorland. Vite janvier et merci beaucoup Brigitte.

Yikes, I have just ordered my yarn park. I'm a total newbie and can only do double /treble stitches - are there any others I need to learn before January? Just loved the colour scheme for this blanket 😍.

Cheryl Metters

My daughter is buying me the yarn dor me for christmas cant wait.

Après avoir réalisé la "Moorland blanket", j'ai commandé la laine pour cette nouvelle aventure.
Je sais que je ne suivrai pas le rythme mais no stress, le principal c'est de se détendre avec un chouette modèle et de la douce laine. Merci Brigitteo

Oh this happy hooker is giddy with anticipation...as i, for the first time, received my yarns to hook along in January!! Oh the joy!!! This is my first time to join a group like this and it was the first time I ordered a yarn pack...and I ABSOLUTELY love the colors and the feel of these yarns. Yippee and Yahoo!! Can't wait to start!!!

Love this pattern. Finally bought some yarn inspired by your hydrangea color scheme and am looking forward to applying this pattern. Cant wait to CAL.

This post and the photos here have made my eyes and brain SO happy this morning Lucy. I keep returning to it for another small colourful serotonin boost

Hello Lucy,
I have been enjoying your blog for many years now. When I say enjoying I mean really enjoying!! The colours, the nature, your talent..... reading your blog takes me to places I may never get to visit. For that I thank you. I have just received two of your Woodland yarn packs.....I can't wait to get started. I live in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. I received my order within 10 days of placing it..... Oh this world we live in...

Thanks again,

Susan Sheets

je viens de recevoir mes laines...elles sont magnifiques, l'attente va être vraiment très longue jusque janvier !!!!!!

Got my yarn can’t wait to get started love the colour scheme.

Somehow I always get drawn to green. Fantastic wreath of colour and texture. It reminds me of a fabric panel by Amy Glass that I have to make into a quilt

Vraiment trop trop beau....
je suis tombée amoureuse !et...
j'ai commandé toutes ces jolies laines hier soir .
Je suis plus qu'impatiente de commencer....
Je suis Française mais ...ne parle pas l'anglais

After much humming and harring, finally purchased two packs of the Woodland Yarn.Very excited to be doing this CAL. Only been crocheting a few years, so anxious also. Will definately try 4mm hook to compare with 5mm hook to get correct measurements. I live in the Northern most part of Australia and do not use blankets, but this one will be special to keep for ever and ever then pass onto my daughter. Love your Blogs and website. Tell everyone about them.

My fetus is due to enter the world as a tiny human in February and I accidentally couldn't resist buying a yarn pack. Whoops! I'm totally going to have time for this, on top of learning how to properly adult right?!

This is going to be my first mistake as a mum right, thinking I can do both?
