About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Congratulations on your Blogiversary Lucy, those beautiful flowers are a wonderful way to celebrate 9 years of blogging! I think I first picked up your blog from Country Living Magazine when Little Man was a baby!
You have achieved so much over the years with your crocheting and have bought some much colour and joy to us all. Sarah x

Hi Lucy, I love your blog for the beautiful colours and calm and gentle realness of it all.

Happy Anniversary! It is great that you have done this through pregnancy, illness etc. I love to see s new post on your blog.

Happy Blogiversary!!! I have been enjoying your lovely and inspirational blog for 5 years now, you have taught me so much for which I am truly thankful. I hadn't been crocheting very long when I found the Attic & now I always have a blanket on my hooks; one of my boys requested a neat ripple of his own to take away when he started uni, my daughter has a version of your Big Blanket that went off to uni with her, and my grandsons had baby blankets waiting for them when they arrived - all thanks to your awesome detailed tutorials which must take so much time and effort on your part but are VERY much appreciated by those of us who don't have anyone nearby who can show us how to crochet. So thank you very much for sharing your world so freely with us, and here's to the next nine years!! :-) Helen

In my opinion, yours is the best crochet blog on the net :) keep up the good (and hard) work!

I of course can not speak for anyone but myself; but Its is I who must thank you!!!!! Without Your blog I never would have advanced as quickly as I have from bumbling novice to what I now consider and advanced beginner or even perhaps and intermediate level crocheter! You blog also bring such beauty and calm to my Life... your photos of walks along the canal as the little peeps head off to school, the amazing views of boats flowers and Light along the canal totally thrill me.... I sweat i can often smell the sea when Im totally immersed in an entry from Dorset... its all so compelling and spirit filling!!! SO thank You Lucy from the bottom of my heart.... Oh yes - and those flowers..... they too speak so deeply to my heart and soul!!

Congrats! That's quite an achievement and what a wonderful online home you've created!!

S xx

Happy Nine Years Lucy. It's been a joy to follow these years with you and share in your creative journey. Bottoms up to many more! Much love Vanessa xxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Anniversary! Here's to the next nine years.

Congratulations on 9 years. Thanks for all the beautiful photos of flowers, the countryside, and the crochet in your home. All are so lovely and give a feeling of peace and pure loveliness. I always feel better after reading your blog.

Those ranunculus I clicked through to see are fantastic! I want to plant some immediately... but will have to wait until fall.
I enjoy your blog and read every post. I have bought two of your blanket kits and enjoyed crocheting on them. I also love that you share your thought processes in choosing colors and designs.
Happy Blogiversary!

Thank you for a lovely blog which I have enjoyed immensely over the years and hope to continue enjoying for a long time to come.

Thank you, Lucy!
Happy Blog Anniversary!

You are wonderful and your blog is beautiful. Happy blogversary!

Happy blogiversary! I know I didn't "find" you 9 years ago, but I certainly have enjoyed the years since then. Thanks for naming the ranuculus for us - a new flower for me. Does it have a fragrance?

I think I began reading your blog in 2008 about the time you began your bathroom redo. I've read every post since then! Thank you so much for writing about flowers, walks, blankets, colors, caravans, children and everything else. If I could move to Yorkshire (along with my husband, children and grandchildren) I would do it in a heartbeat! Since I can't, your blog is my connection to a world and country I love. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I probably visit your blog daily! I adore looking at all the old post. "Oooing" and "arrrrrring" at all the lovely pictures and being inspired by all the colours. I ADORE colour! Thank you for taking the time to keep the blog up to date. Its my little happy place 💖

Congratulations on your blog. I've enjoyed reading it for about the last 6 years and plan to continue. Your photos are lovely as well!

I'm across the pond in the USA and I cannot tell you how much I look forward to your new posts, photographs, tutorials, patterns, and you! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my craftiness and certainly look forward to the next 9 years and many more! Have a wonderful year!

Congrats! A happy day indeed! The flowers are gorgeous! (I agree about the Ranunculus.) Thank you Lucy for sharing your creative journey and daily life with us, it's been a blessing and most definitely words cannot express enough the joy we all find here. Here's to another ten and beyond!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy blogging birthday
The reason I love your blog - apart from all the crochet loveliness- is that you take pleasure in the small things in life. I love your delight in a nice walk or a Danish pastry because I am a lover of small things too.
I never knew the name for ranunculus until now although I have often seen them
Lots of love Louise xx

Yay! I'm glad you keep blogging, Lucy! I like to shoot photos of flowers, too. Flowers forever!
