About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Just a quick returning thank you for brightening my day. Your colors, your attitude and your generous sharing are so appreciated. Even my husband pauses now to see why I start my day with a smile and recognizes the pictures from the lady who crochets. You are always welcome in our home.

Thank you Lucy your blog means so much to so many of us. You are a wonderful lady and over the years of following your blog you feel like a dear old friend. Thank you very much again for sharing your world with us. And thank you for sharing the recipe for the 3 ingredient cookies with the smarties on top. When my 2 older girls were at school and I was at home with my little boy we had a wonderful time making them together it is such a nice memory and he still asks me to make them with him.
Thank you very much again

Hi Lucy,
I don't think I have commented on you blog before. I have dipped in and out of your attic over the last few years and taken comfort from you when I have felt low and flat. At the beginning, I delighted in reading about your enthusiasm for homemaking and being a mum. My children were the age yours are now, and I was feeling used (rather than needed) by them. They no longer wanted to go for walks with me, bake cakes with me or sit at the table doing craft activities. I looked forward to the summer holidays so that I could spend time with them, but I ended up hanging around at home whilst they did their own things. Reading your blog at that time, helped me to remember the good times - it made me smile. I don't presume to know why you have been feeling the way you have, but if it is any way connected to your children growing up, take comfort from me that it gets better. Now my almost-grown-up children seek out time with me. We are all so busy, it is a pleasure to go shopping together, share a coffee or (especially) play a game. Take care, Lucy x

So, nice to see you here in this space again, Lucy. Definitely okay to take time off. In fact, you MUST take time off now and then. When you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed, blogging can feel like "one more thing" to do. And we all understand that. xo

Peg Botham

Dearest Lucy, it's so great to pop too your site and see you back. It doesn't matter what the reasons are its just nice to see your posts. I do understand some of your reasons, I didn't blog for about a year and have just come back to it life and health got in the way.

I fully understand your decision for the school holidays sometimes we need to stop and listen to our heart. Enjoy the summer with your little people and know that your followers will happily wait to hear whatever you share. I've just started yourCupcake blanket today and am thoroughly enjoying working on it as I did your Ripple and Cosy blankets. Keep well. X

Dear Lucy,
I'm so thankful that you are back! A friend and I meet every week in Amarillo, Texas and work on your blankets or socks. We often talk about your sweet spirit and willingness to teach and share. You have inspired us and so many more to CREATE!!! We have women stop at the coffee shop where we knit/crochet to tell us that they want to join in on the yarn-y fun. Your love for all things beautiful is reaching across the ocean and blessing women around the world. I'm so proud of you <3

Jane Miller

Do what you need to do for you! That is most important and we'll always be around to love you!

Jane Kirby

So glad you're ok, I was getting worried :)
