About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married, stay at home Mum with three young children. We live in a 100year old Victorian house in the North of England which we are slowly renovating, and here I spend my days :: mothering, decorating, crocheting, baking, sewing, crafting and gardening. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world. xxxx

Hi from Australia.........I have just completed all the crochet of the Bower Bird, now off to find a needle but I really should go to bed. It's a shame I have to go to work tomorrow I would love to stay home and finish the whole pattern. Thankyou and "J" for your time and effort to write this pattern!

Thank you Lucy and your technical consultant! :-) I've nearly finished my first bird, just onto the embroidery (I love embroidery). This bird will have some lavender in his tummy then will be sent as a little anniversary present for my hooky friend, so I'll just have to make another for me. Now that I've learned so much from your tutorial, the pdf will be perfect! Love Jo xx

Dear Lucy,

Thanks for sharing. Your powerbird is brilliant.
It 's perfect as a gift.
Thanks to Jo, above: what a smart idea to put lavender into it. Or some little pieces of Lush soap (my favourite)

lauren

ummm the last two pictures on your pattern are wrong

Briony

So generous of you to share this pattern with the world Lucy. I don't often comment but always pop in to see what you are up to, especially if I need a kick up the bum to get me going again, you always manage to get me back crocheting again. lol
I love all of your enthusiasm as you remind me of how I used to be when I had lots more energy and 3 children to bring up like yourself.
Hugs

Silly Little Sheep

Very pretty, thank you! I am a complete newbie to British crochet terms, but I may be able to work something out from the pictures. There are lots of babies around us at the moment and I just want to make a toy for ALL of them!! :) This bird is a perfect little gift!

Elaine Hocking

Liking the format of the PDF. Well done Mr J.

Jools Morgan-Jones

Thank you so much Lucy (and J!) for sharing this - your generosity is inspiring. One day, if I keep practicing, I might be brave enough to have a go at this :)

Caz

I want to learn to crochet,, so this may be one of my first projects. I love this Birdy.

I stumbled upon your blog while searching for a particular pattern. I just wanted to let you know that I quickly became a fan of your blog. Sadly, I am having trouble subscribing. For whatever technical reason, I only see a text screen whenever I attempt to subscribe.
I am writing to you from Kansas City, U.S. I hope to visit your colorful world someday.

Joy

Thanks lovely lady xx Joy xx
