About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Stylecraft Special DK is so fun to work with!

Winwick Mum

It is nice yarn, I'm always happy to use it. Sounds like you've had a perfect day! xx

Sarah Mulligan

Oh you have a folder with a colour chart! Exciting! Now that would be useful, the colours sometimes look very different to the tiny on screen picture.
Love your bright colour combos. X

Anne Holt

I have all my stylecraft colour coded (think that comes from being an early years teacher) in two wicker picnic baskets. They are an absolute pleasure to open especially on such a dreary day like today.

Beautiful colours, how nice to see them all laid out together. I feel your excitement! They are quite inspirational.

Amy at love made my home

I'm so glad that you are so happily enjoying your colourful life! You are making my life very colourful as I am working on a ripple right now and loving it thanks to you! Thank you. xx

I recently added Parchment and Silver to my stash and they're making a big difference to my color palettes.

Linda Mitchell

I get a colour fix from looking at your work....so I totally understand when you say you've been on a high all day! Keep up the good work.

I loved reading about my favourite crochet blog in Simply Crochet today! Great article!

A feast to the eyes Lucy. WOW

I ordered Stylecraft yarns a couple of months ago and really love the color and feel of the yarn. I am having so much fun with color and it is bliss! Hugs, M

I love this yarn too, specially the new one called gold. So warm and sunny....
Hope the chunky will come in more colours, just 18 is not enough ;-)

Taciana Simmons

I have never been able to find stylecraft here in the US. But it looks like you have a great variety of colors. What a dream !

Isn't Stylecraft Special DK great? Love the wide range of Colors. Just oredered the Medium Color Pack.

Goodmorning!The colour beautifies life!!!

Janette Surtees

Oh what a joy to play / work with all those colours and yarns. Loving that folder with the rectangular colour swatches. Can any old member of the public get these sheets/ folders? Like you I too have started to make my own yarn swatches by sticking bunches of yarn onto card and naming and coding them. Thank you Lucy for your continuing wonderfulness!!

You sound so happy......amazing how yarn can do that :)
I feel exactly the same with yarn or fabrics, its just such a good feeling

Great colours. How do you feel about it being 100% acrylic?
May x

Jacqueline Russell

I love the colours but not so keen on it being acrylic. It keeps the price down and is practical for kids things but when I am making for myself I prefer the merinos or cottons.

j'ai hâte de voir ce que tu vas faire avec bisous tout plein
bon week end gg

So much pleasure and enjoyment from such tiny yarn samples. It's amazing the effect that colour can have on a person's mood. It's even more amazing how getting the right combinations can add to that, as if you are putting all the pieces of an unknown puzzle together in the right order, and bingo!! I haven't written anything on colour for ages Lucy - you have inspired me to get going on something this weekend! :)
