About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Wow that's pretty impressive Luce! So much hookiness. I am looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us all next year. Wishing you and yours a very happy new year. xxx

Kit

A lovely record of your inspirational work, Lucy. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has several things on the go at once. Glad, also, that you took lots of photos of your Yarndale yarn bombing. Has any of it survived?

Deia

Stunning work! And so inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Joy

Gorgeous - I think I have probably done three quarters of your projects, you are such an inspiration ... lovely colourful photos. I had a Yarndale photobook for Christmas, so my Skipton journey will remain with me forever! Thanks for a great colourful 2013 Lucy and for sharing with us xx lots of love Joy xx

Thank you for covering that for us. Certainly a colourful year for you. I can hardly wait to get Simply Crochet magazine! I thought it was December and I couldn't find it on the shelves.

Lucy, this is so inspirational! I have only ever crocheted one project and that was a granny square blanket and after that, I find I have forgotten how to crochet... is this normal??? I look at all your projects and wish I could read patterns.. somehow I need someone to show me how... one day, I will pick up my hook again :-D Have a lovely New Year and keep the pictures coming xxx

Alison Kalotka

Phew what a year! Thank you for keeping me motivated and inspired this year. All the best for 2014, can't wait to meet you again next year at yarndale!

Katie

Since I don't crochet, all of these handmade items are so inspiring. I love the blankets and the window garland in particular! I am hoping to start knitting again this year, though since I try and use natural materials and colors, the projects won't be quite as eye-catching!

Carolien

You made lovely things this year, as well as all the other years! This year you've also managed to inspire me to start crocheting again. I've got myself a big bag of all different, bright colored yarn and have been having a ball! (pun intended)
Thank you Lucy and best wishes for the new year for you and your family.

Patchwork Fairy

I am just about to start your ripple blanket as a keep-me-warm-whilst-I-make-it type of project. I only found your blog this year but am enjoying delving into the archives. Best wishes for the new year!

Puppet Lady

A Fantastic, inspirational burst of colour! Thanks for sharing!

I'm still so amazing by your crocheted wreaths and your design skills. Lovely to see all your projects in one post, sometimes I forget you work at such incredible speed. Happy new year to you and your family!

Blimey, I've read all your posts this year & the sheer quantity of your work never registered. You can certainly look back & know you spent your itzy bitzy segments of free time wisely; that's how I view my craft time- not staring with glazed eyes at the telly but doing something satisfying. Perhaps we should all jot down what we make each month...in a diary or take a photo. Wish I could blog like you but it ain't gonna happen! Good luck next year in your creative work and with your family. I look forward to sharing your anecdotes via this blog & the mag.x

Helen

A huge thank you for the neat ripple tutorial I'm so enjoying this new for me adventure. This is despite the help from Nemo one of my Shiddie boys who decided he wanted to rearrange my wool basket!
