Wowsers! That was pretty full on wasn't it?! Hahahaa!!
I cannot for the life of me contemplate a home life without fresh flowers :: for me they are vital to my well being, and during the few days/weeks in a year when I forget them, I miss them terribly. They bring colour, happiness and vitality to a room, and add a huge dose of undiluted pleasure to the days.
I really enjoy buying my bunches of seasonal flowers and pots of inexpensive bulbs from the market/shops, it's a sweet weekly ritual that I love. Daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths, tulips, sweet williams, stocks, roses, dahlias, sunflowers :: it's the Floral Year.
However, my summer/autumn homegrown posies are without a doubt my Complete Favourite. In my dreams, I would love to grow more of my own summer garden annuals as I love them so much, but as yet I have not managed to be organised enough. One day. One day I will create the back yard of my dreams, full to the brim with roses, sweet peas, marigolds, cosmos, nasturtiums, geraniums, cornflowers and sunflowers. I will fill jugs instead of little ink bottles. The flowers will be abundant. One day.

Your bouquets are always lovely, but the bunches of sweet peas are my favourites. I grew up with vines of sweet peas covering the fence in our backyard, giving their gift of heavenly fragrance. They don't grow well where I live now, so your photos always take me back. Thank you.

I so love the rainbow colored pitcher, I`ve seen it before in your posts and it`s so nice. You must be so proud of all those flowers, I can`t get myself to spend money on flowers that just die, but they really look wonderful.

Hi from New Zealand! Such beautiful flowers. I love them too and always need them around the house. Your little posies are so pretty and inspire me. Since reading your blog I am content with a small sprinkling of flowers on my desk when there aren't many available too :)

What eye candy! Lovely. I wish we could have as many flowers in our home as you do. To make up for the lack of flowers in Winter, how about trying silk flowers? If you get good quality ones, and look after them well, they will look super, and last for ages. However, I'm afraid that they do cost quite a bit to buy so you would need to get them somewhere cheap.

I love that you always have flowers. You inspired me to keep my eyes out for bargains and now we frequently have fresh flowers on the table. At the moment though we have a poinsettia plant that my husband picked out before Christmas.

Awh Lucy I love your blog it is so colourful. I'm sitting here looking at the rain feeling miserable, but do you know what, I'm going to go and get some flowers for myself to bring some colour into the dull day. I love your mini bunting for droopy hyacinths what a fab idea xx

Oh, such a beautiful look at a year of flowers! I've always been a huge fan of fresh flowers to brighten any room in the house. It is my one ( okay. Maybe I have several) guilty pleasures when I di my food shopping. Such a great!

You have such a lovely collection of colourful jugs, Lucy. I particularly like the old bottles. I have a few similar glass ones that we have dug up in the yard over the years. I find it very hard to grow pretty flowers though- something to do with them needing consistent watering methinks....
