About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Glad you have had a lovely time Lucy, you deserve it. Christmas, however, has not been and gone, it lasts till Jan 6th, the Epiphany. A good excuse to carry on feasting, relaxing and indulging oneself I say!
Happy New Year to you all

Your home looks really festive and cosy. I can understand the 'Phew' comment. I think us mums deserve brownie points at this time of year. Happy New Year Lucy!

Hi. I recently discovered your blog and have read it right from the start. I love the way you make everyday life sound so exciting and your photos are beautiful. I've often thought of starting a blog but thought I would have nothing interesting to say..... But after reading yours maybe' I'll give it a go. Yours is such an inspiration.
I really enjoy your tales of Connievan. Next time you want to come to the N.West coast, try Lytham St Anne. Only 8miles from Blackpool (aka chavpool in our house!) but a world away in style. StAnnes is a proper old-fashioned sea side town......no amusements.....well only a handful of little things. A lovely beach, outdoor paddling pools, pier, promenade, bandstand, parks etc. Lytham is round the corner on the Ribble estuary. Nice prom to walk along and big green area to picnic on. Nice parks....
Maybe I should work for tourist board!! I think your family would like it.
Happy new year xx
PS how is your house so tidy already? I have 3 girls 16,13 and 10 and the house is like a tip!!

Happy New Year to you Lucy. I completed your star advent garland day by day in red and white and it hangs doubled back on itself under the mantlepeice. I am half way through your crochet wreath- it will have to be a New Years Wreath here :) Lots of holly leaves and some bright flocked baubles from Paperchase are ready to sdorn it so far...thank you for all the inspiration and fabulous tutorials.

Lynne

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your Christmas home with us - so bright, homely and utterly inspiring. I wish you and your family all of the very best for the New Year. x

There's something peculiarly lovely about these post-Christmas days - relaxed and togethery (if that's a word!) without the pressure that can build up around Christmas Day itself. Enjoy every minute of them, Lucy! E xx

Angella

I recently found your blog and it is officially the first blog I am (definitely) addicted to! I work very hard at not getting sucked into the virtual world, (because I really like the real one!), but reading your blog doesn't feel virtual at all. I think that's the charm and charismatic pull. Thank you for representing the real out here!

Also, I've not thought about how wonderful the 27th is, and you're right, so thanks for the illumination. My favorite day is Christmas Eve-Eve, anticipation at its highest!

Thanks again and please keep writing and posting and hooking!

Helen

Our Christmas is always a bit extended as we see different Grandparents and aunties throughout the week between Christmas and new year but there has been plenty of quiet relaxing time going on as well.
I'm loving the look of your ripple, I'm about halfway through my own blanket following your pattern and need to take some more pictures too, I hope to have more time for it, now all the Christmas present crafts are finished (or nearly finished!)
