About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married, stay at home Mum with three young children. We live in a 100year old Victorian house in the North of England which we are slowly renovating, and here I spend my days :: mothering, decorating, crocheting, baking, sewing, crafting and gardening. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world. xxxx

wow, they should just give YOU the magazine to produce, really, they should! I really enjoyed just feasting my eyes on all of the colour! As a mummy of three who sews quilts, my eldest daughter ( same age as yours) is also showing latent sewing blossoming recently! Its so wonderful isnt it? Whats nicer than being mummy?

Jean

PDF is fine. My MIL who is 99 says that she 'likes to be beside the sea, not in it, not on it! ' . Love your blog.

Hello Lucy, that's so awesome to see you in a magazine and everyone was waiting for! Mmmm...how can I tell you how much I love your crochet world and I enjoy the way you write. Oh yeah I can't swim either.

Crafty Gardener

Congrats on the article. I look forward to reading your book (the one you really want to write)

Hazel

Awwwww fantastic interview! Loved reading it and looking back at all your happy little creations. Hey, never mind about the swimming - I can't ride a bike! I'm on a real downer about it at the moment as dd has just learnt! x

CONGRATULATIONS! It must be exciting to be included in a magazine about something you love doing. You deserve it. You are so generous to share your life and loves with us here on your blog. God always blesses those who give of themselves and your gifts here,to us, are such a blessing.

How lovely to find out more about you! So nice to know that I'm not the only one who loves the sea but you couldn't pay me enough to get in it! All those photos in one place have set me all a-quiver! I'm just heading to my cupboard to find some wool ...

I am so pleased to see that you have been interviewed at last!!! About time too. It was your wonderful blog that got me crocheting again. And it was all the colour that attracted me. Now in your interview you said that you would like to do a book. Go for it!! All your fans out here in blogland will be queuing up for a copy. CONGRATULATIONS and a big hug from me.xx

Congratulations! Thank you so much for all your free patterns. I've made about 30 May Roses. Here in Canada I still sometimes find old patterns that were sold here using the UK terminology, but all the new patterns use US terminology. It was confusing the first time I realized. God Bless you and your family and keep on crocheting!

Well done, Lucy. I am a follower of your colourful Blog and always enjoy your projects, patterns and snippets about your life. I too enjoyed reading the lengthier version of the article.

Kate

Well done you! So nice to see lots of the projects again, very talented indeed. X

SOL

Took time out from my own shelves of doom to read this. How lovely to see you in print. Write the book. Start now - but only if it doesn't interfere with blogging (or feeding the children).

Noelia

Ohhh!!! Congratulations Lucy! It's so cool :)
I'm very happy for you.

Hugs, Noelia.

Jess

Lovely, lovely, lovely! What a wonderful article! Well done! Shame the readers of Simply Crochet couldn't read the whole of your answers.

Woo hoo, how exciting!!!! In a magazine, lovely, well done you! To be honest I give these magazines a wide berth as I usually find the style and patterns really, well, not my thing, but this has some lovely stuff.

And I am a huge fan of granny square scarves, I think they can look ace if done in not-too-rainbowy colours, so I feel vindicated somehow!

Seriously though, congratulations Lucy!! xx

Madeleine

Very nice article, mind you your version was even better and why I prefer blogs to magazines really; it's a shame it got cut to size but it still did you proud. I too like complete peace and quiet while I get making, it's very meditative I think and relaxing. Nice seeing all your crochet like that, you've made such a lot! I remember you ripping out the granny squares with the white border but I don't remember what I thought about it. I know that 'flowers in the snow' is one of my favourite blankets and some people use pure white for that. I prefer cream though.

I agree that people should use colours that make them happy and that is different for everyone. I also used the same book as you to learn crochet from. It made very good sense to me.

Mariël

Great story! Thank you for calling me a Hero (-: you are pretty awsome your self!

Kay G.

Dear Lucy,
I loved reading this. I agree so much about loving the colors that you are creating. It is the number one thing for me...having that color come alive for me as I crochet.
I think you should have your own crochet magazine or better yet, you should have your own TV show. I see it in your future! (My crystal ball is never wrong!)
Love,
Kay
