Returning back to routine today, J went back to work, the Little Peeps went back to school and the Kidlett and I went off to sing and bash drums at Musical Tots. It was good. I do enjoy routine, more than I like to admit.
This afternoon, I had a little time to myself :: Mummy Playtime. I had a good smooch with my new soft embroidery threads, purchased yesterday so that I may continue my obsession with making Mini Bunting.
Do you like the colours? I had J and the LP waiting for me in the car, so I picked these out in about 30 second flat. Yanked them off their hooks, pooled them together in my hands, rushed to the till, paid for them, made a little small talk with the shop lady whom I taught to crochet a few years ago, and ran out the door. J still managed to raise his eyebrows, honestly, I swear I must've only been about five minutes.
I chose quite a few pinky colours as I've an idea to crochet some mini roses. Think sweet mini bunting flags interspersed with mini crochet roses. Ooooooooooooooooooh!!
Something else caught my eye this afternoon during Playtime too. This envelope that arrived a few weeks ago all the way from Malaysia, sitting patiently on my desk, waiting for my Full Attention.
Want to see the Malaysian contents?
Ok.....
It's a sticker set. Found and purchased on Etsy when I was having a little gush over all things Washi Tape.
Just a minute though...lets just nip over to the sofa and make sure Little B is still sweetly in the land of nod............
........ahh yes, sleeping soundly, snoring gently and making little grunty animal noises. Too cute for words.
Right then, it's safe to carry on with my Playtime, uninterrupted.
Lets open up the packet shall we?
Oooooooooooooooooo-la-la!!!!! Sweet!!!
Twenty five little playing-card sized sticker sheets, don't you just love little things like this? Takes me right back to my childhood, makes me think I am eight years old again. Such joy to be had with stickers and cutesy stationary products!
Can you see that each sticker sheet is pre cut? There are circles at one end, then the rest is cut into two different width strips.
You know what I'm going to do with the strips don't you?
Uh-huh. Mini paper bunting strings, inspired by this and this. This is as far as I got before Little B woke up, but I am already looking forward to resuming during my Tuesday afternoon Playtime.
Thread. Stickers. Scissors.
Peal, fold, stick, snip, love.
Bliss.

Edit to add :: the Etsy seller that I bought the stickers from can be found here. You can also find many more similar items on Etsy though, have a look here if you're interested.

Hello there Lucy, I've missed you the last few days as we've been away and my littlies don't go back to school until tomorrow. I've just looked at your Sunday pictures. Wasn't it a stunning (if cold) day. Shame today wasn't as nice as we had an teacher training day and the whole of Thorpe Perrow Arboretum almost to ourselves. I can't wait to upload my photos.
As much as I like routine, I'm not looking forward to the morning rush tomorrow...I am looking forward to seeing more of your little bunting things. What are you going to do with them?

Oh the joy of new stationery items. One of the (many) joys of being a Teacher was sticky stars. How much I loved putting stars on good work: three coloured stars= a silver star.Three silvers=a gold...when I was little I wanted to work at the Post Office because I just loved all the rubber stamps and string and paperclips that the job entailed.

Oh you lucky lady! All that time to yourself! I see you used it wisely and I can't wait to see what your floss and sticker paper turns into!!

Dear Lucy,
How sweet your baby boy looks sleeping! Thank you for giving us just a peak at his angelic face! I cannot believe how the time flies and how big he is already! As for you sticker package, I ADORE THE POLKA DOTS!!! It reminds me of a mug I have. A gift I bought for myself around the holidays. Clear across the country as it sat in my hand and I contemplated buying it I thought, Lucy would love this.... All the bright spunky polka dots! Now I think of you & Attic24 whenever I use it. Keep inspiring us all Lucy with colors that make our hearts sing!
Hugs, from Sunny FL, Donna

You make it all look so easy Lucy! Your creations are fantastic as usual. I sometimes find it so hard to pick out colours that go well together but you do have a natural talent for it. I am loving those mini bunting ideas too ~ both the mini crochet and the washi tape :O)xx

Love the washi bunting! It would look great on cards, too. And great selection of thread colours, even if you were a bit rushed. Love your 'bouquet'! lol

Hi Again,
Can you please add a post & link to what pattern the blanket Little B is sleeping under? I cannot seem to remember it and my youngest & I enjoy the colorful squares piped in the red trim so very much! I remember when you made the tiny squares pillow cover and I made a few tiny squares myself that I have tucked away as a reminder for a future project. Maybe it is time for a tiny square blanket to be made....

How do you do that with colours? It would have taken me ages and the assistance of my art teacher daughter to decide! Lovely little sticky tape thingies.. so many possibilities.. mmm...love the baby bunting :)x

Lovely Lucy! Love the colour choice - can't wait to see what you do with them. i found some Anchor soft thread in a charity shop the other day - only 4 colours, but looking forward to crocheting with it. I am resisting the washi tape urge so far.....succumbing could be dangerous! For now, I'll watch what you do! xx

Aïe,aïe, aïe...Stop tempting us, will you. I don't have enough time to knit & crochet. What if I indulge myself with masking tape too... You go ahead... And tell us all about it, ok?

Hello, I stumbled across your blog and find myself frequently peeking in to see what you are up to! I am like Donna above and woul love to see a pattern for the blanket your baby is sleeping under. I am quite the beginner at crochet, but I'm learning and reading all I can. Thank you so much for your inspiration all the way from Texas. :)
